International Cooperation between VNU-USSH and Texas Tech University: Creating the Future of Educational and Research Cooperation

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU; Dr. Tosha Dupras, Rector of the School of Arts & Sciences; Prof. Dr. Ron Milam, Executive Director of the Institute for Peace & Conflict; Dr. Steve Maxner, Director of the Vietnam Archives and Research Center, and representatives of the Department of Cooperation and Development and the Department of Archives and Office Management of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed on a comprehensive cooperation program, including:
Student and faculty exchange
One of the main contents of the meeting was the student and faculty exchange program between VNU-USSH and Texas Tech University. This program aims to provide students and faculty of both schools with opportunities to experience studying and researching in an international environment, thereby improving the quality of training and broadening academic horizons.
Organizing scientific seminars
The two sides agreed to organize scientific seminars on the topic of Archives and History of Vietnam - the United States. These seminars are not only an opportunity to share knowledge and research experience but also a forum to promote research cooperation and develop scientific projects related to the history and culture of the two countries.
Cooperation in research and translation of historical documents
Another important highlight of the working session was the cooperation between VNU-USSH students and experts from Texas Tech University in identifying and translating documents recording the history of the two countries. This is an opportunity for students to directly participate in practical research projects, while contributing to the preservation and promotion of historical values ​​of Vietnam and the United States.
Texas Tech University supports the construction of an academic archive space at USSH Hanoi
The two sides agreed to create an archive space for academic documents with an easily accessible system for students and lecturers, whereby the Vietnam Archives and Research Center will share important archival resources about Vietnam for the University's staff and students to use widely. This archive system will be a valuable resource for researchers and scholars, helping them easily access and use the documents necessary for their work.
