VNU-USSH awarded 100 full scholarships to Vietnamese Navy soldiers

This is information exchanged between leaders of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Hanoi (VNU-USSH) and the Vietnam Naval Service on June 15th,2024.
Attending the meeting was the presence of Major General Hoang Hong Ha - Rear Admiral, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Naval Service, and other leadership representatives of the Navy.
On the side of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, there was Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Nam - Vice Chairman of the University Council, Head of the Training Department and heads of other departments.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, expressed the university’s gratitude when awarding scholarships to the Vietnam People's Army Navy.
At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized: With 80 years of historical tradition, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, is a leading unit in research and training in the field of social sciences and humanities. The university’s training major structure has 92 majors at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels.
Rector Hoang Anh Tuan shared the policy of the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, as well as the commitment to carry out national responsibilities.  VNU-USSH has decided to grant scholarships to Navy soldiers who complete their national tasks and wish to study and cultivate knowledge to serve the cause of protecting our country.
Accordingly, there will be 100 full scholarships for naval soldiers who meet the requirements of successfully completing their military service and passing the entrance exam for majors (both regular and work-study) of the VNU-USSH from 2024.
In addition, when becoming a student at VNU-USSH, the soldiers will be eligible to supporting policies for students of the university, such as scholarships for educational encouragement, scholarships for talented students in 09 basic majors, off-budget scholarships from organizations and businesses...

Sharing the same sentiments with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, Major General Hoang Hong Ha said that the university’s scholarships will motivate naval soldiers to uphold their task of protecting Vietnam. This expands opportunities to develop capacity, ethics and career opportunities, demonstrating the care and remuneration policies of the Party, the State in general and Hanoi National University, the University Social Sciences and Humanities in particular. Major General Hoang Hong Ha emphasized that this is the first scholarship program implemented at VNU-USSH as well as the Navy, opening the path forward for further cooperative activities between the two units.
It is expected that both sides will soon sign a cooperation memorandum to realize the above policy.
