Journalism Writing Skills Class - Course 5

University of Social Sciences and Humanities announces enrollment for short-term training course granting certificate in Journalism Skills, starting in February 2011.

1. Subject

Students who have graduated/are studying at colleges/universities.

2. Objectives

At the end of the course, students will grasp the basic knowledge and skills of journalism, specifically as follows: + The appearance of Vietnamese journalism and career opportunities in the field of print media; + Law and Journalism Ethics; + Skills to detect problems and collect information and evaluate press information; + Interviewing skills as a professional operation of journalists, and interviewing as an independent genre of journalism; + Basic journalism genres such as news, interviews, portraits, reports, and reflections; + Organizing articles; + Introduction to newspaper layout.

3. Study time

8 weeks. 3 sessions per week. - Tuition: Students outside the school: 2,200,000 VND Students who are students in the school (with student card): 1,800,000 VND Former students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (with diploma): 2,000,000 VND - Pay at least 70% of the tuition fee on the day of registration. No refunds after the start of the course.

4. Use of students' practice products

Appropriate and high-quality practical products of students will be posted on the website of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and will receive royalties according to current regulations.

5. Lecturer

They are highly qualified lecturers, professionally trained in journalism and communication in advanced countries around the world, and experienced television, print and electronic newspaper reporters working at central and Hanoi press and communication agencies.

6. Graduation certificate

Certificate in Vietnamese and English, issued by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi).

7. Register for study

- Registration location: + Center for Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, 3rd floor, Building H, 336 Nguyen Trai, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi. - Registration documents: + Registration form (receive and fill in the form at the registration location) + Copy of student ID card/university diploma/high school diploma + 2 photos 3 x 4 cm (taken within the last 3 months)
