- The thesis has specifically and detailedly reconstructed the picture of university education under the Republic of Vietnam government from 1956 to 1964 and from 1965 to 1975 in terms of system/structure, training objectives, content, training methods, teaching staff - students, budget facilities and university management organization.
- The thesis clarifies the relationship between the historical conditions of South Vietnam under the Republic of Vietnam government and the movement of higher education from 1956 to 1975.
- The thesis has clarified the transformation of the Republic of Vietnam's higher education from the elite, academic French-style higher education from 1956 to 1964 to the mass, practical American university model from 1965 to 1975.
- The thesis has exploited and systematized a rich and diverse body of documents on education in general and university education in particular under the Republic of Vietnam government, especially primary sources currently preserved at the National Archives Center II in Ho Chi Minh City.
