10. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
This dissertation is a scientific work applying narrative theory and poetics to the study of the Vietnamese short story genre after 1975. Although some works have followed this research direction, with its broad scope and approach, this dissertation is the first to survey the subject to arrive at the most comprehensive conclusions and summaries of the poetic characteristics, development, and achievements of the Vietnamese short story over the past forty years. Therefore, the dissertation not only contributes to clarifying theoretical issues concerning the genre but also serves as a survey linked to perspectives on periodization and summarization of literary history.
Along with comprehensive studies on other genres (novels, poetry, etc.), this dissertation contributes to providing a general overview of the forty-year journey and development of Vietnamese literature in the contemporary period.
11. Practical applications:
This dissertation provides a useful reference for research, teaching, and learning in the field of Literature in universities and colleges, and for readers interested in Vietnamese literature after 1975.

10. Summary of a new findings of the thesis:
This thesis is a scientific work that puts theory of narratology and poetics into investigating short-story genre in Vietnam after 1975. While there have been some works going towards this study, this thesis with a wide research scope and a specific approach is the first research that examines the object to summarize about the features of after-1975 Vietnamese short story's structure, the process and the achievements of Vietnamese short-story genre since 1975 up to present. Therefore, this thesis not only contributes to manifesting the theory of Vietnamese short story as a literature genre, but also is a research associated with viewpoints about divergence and synthesizing of literary history.
This thesis, combined with other research about such other literary genres as poem, fiction..., contributes to outline the forty year development process of Vietnamese literature in the contemporary period.
