Secondly, the thesis compiled and analyzed 185 folk narrative texts about the origins of ethnic groups in Vietnam, thereby exploring the ethnic groups' conceptions of ancestry, homeland, and inter-ethnic relationships. The thesis also compared the ancestral motifs used in the origin myths of the Kinh people and ethnic minorities.

Thirdly, the thesis explores the existence of origin myths in the cultural practices of ethnic groups in Vietnam, such as family rituals, community ceremonies and festivals, and customs in daily life. The thesis investigates the recollection of ancestral memories and origins of these ethnic groups through these cultural practices, examining the spiritual and community-cohesive aspects of these cultural practices.

Fourth, the thesis explored the dynamics of myths about the origins of Vietnamese ethnic groups in contemporary society, examining the integration and transformation of folk narratives and cultural practices associated with the origins of these ethnic groups. The thesis investigated the development of these narratives and cultural practices in a bottom-up direction by communities and a top-down direction with the institutionalization by the state, affirming the role of origin myths (especially the myth of Lac Long Quan and Au Co) in consolidating ethnic communities and the Vietnamese national community. From this, the thesis proposed solutions for preserving and promoting ethnic origin myths in the context of contemporary society.
