10. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
This dissertation is the first work to take grammatical metaphors of systemic functional grammar as its research object to examine this phenomenon in Vietnamese social science texts. The dissertation has analyzed specific manifestations of grammatical metaphors expressed in two categories: ideological metaphors and interpersonal metaphors.
Ideological metaphors are expressed through phenomena such as nominalization of verb phrases, nominalization of clauses, enclosed sentences, etc., in Vietnamese social science texts.
Interpersonal metaphors in Vietnamese social science texts include modal metaphors and semantic metaphors.
11. Practical applications:
In practice, understanding how grammatical metaphors are used and their effects in Vietnamese scientific texts, along with mastering the methods of applying them, will help language researchers and educators better understand the nature and structure of scientific texts. Based on this, a course on effective scientific writing methods can be developed, helping undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students improve their ability to write scientific reports, theses, and dissertations.
Furthermore, a thorough understanding of grammatical metaphors can help translators and interpreters perform their translation work more easily. Mastering grammatical structures and the ways of expressing meaning in different types of texts allows for faster, more accurate, and more efficient language encoding.
12. Further research:
In the future, this thesis may continue to delve deeper into grammatical metaphors in several other genres of Vietnamese texts; explore and compare the use of grammatical metaphors in Vietnamese and English; and, based on this thesis, revise and supplement it to complete a textbook on how to create social science texts using grammatical metaphors.

10. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
The thesis is the first research on using the metaphors of the systemic functional grammar as the study subject to survey this phenomenon in the documents in social sciences in Vietnamese. The thesis has analyzed the specific features of grammatical metaphors which are manifested in two types: interpersonal metaphor and ideational metaphor.
The ideational metaphors are manifested through the phenomena: nominalization of verb phrases, nominalization of the clauses, etc., in the documents in social sciences in Vietnamese.
The interpersonal metaphor in social sciences in Vietnamese consists of mood metaphors and modality metaphors.

On the basis of this thesis, it is possible to build up a subject to teach the methods of composing scientific documents effectively in order to help students, master students and PhD. candidates write their scientific reports, theses and dissertations.
In addition, understanding the structures of grammatical metaphors can also help translators and interpreters do their work more easily because understanding clearly grammatical structures and the meaning expressions in the documents of different types helps convert the language codes quickly, effectively and accurately.
12. Further research directions, if any:
In the future, it is possible to continue studying deeply the grammatical metaphors in other types of scientific documents in Vietnamese; finding about and doing research on the comparison between the uses of metaphors in English and the uses of metaphors in Vietnamese ; At the same time, on the basis of this thesis, it is possible to make a correction and supplement in order to complete a book of the methods of building scientific documents in the mode of grammatical metaphors.
