Based on a political science approach, with power relations as the central category, the thesis clarifies the contents and trends that clearly demonstrate the Party's right to lead and the People's right to be masters, specifically as follows:

- Contributing to clarifying some basic concepts such as: political party, leading party, ruling party, Communist Party, Communist Party of Vietnam, and the people; further elucidating the viewpoints of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought on the relationship between the Party and the people;

- To clarify the nature, content, and factors affecting the relationship between the Party and the people; the principles and conditions ensuring the cohesion between the Party and the people, providing a theoretical and practical basis for the Party in building unity and solidarity between the Party and the people.

- To survey the current state of the relationship between the Party and the people, clarifying the causes of achievements, limitations, and challenges in this relationship in the present period.

- Propose directions and a system of diverse and practical solutions to further strengthen the relationship between the Party and the people in the current period.

To serve as a reference for research and teaching on related issues in the field of political theory; and also as a reference for leaders and managers in researching the reform of the political system in Vietnam today.

- Contribution to further clarify fundamental concepts such as political party, the Party leader, the ruling party, the Communist Party, the Communist Party of Vietnam, the People; further clarification of the viewpoints of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh ideology on the relationship between the Party and the People;

- Clarification of the nature, content and the factors affecting the relationship between the Party and the People; principles and conditions to ensure coherence between the Party and the People, as the theoretical basis - practice for the Party in building unity and solidarity between the Party and the People.
