Based on the political science approach, taking power relations as the central category, the thesis clarifies the contents and trends that clearly show that the Party has the right to lead and the People have the right to be masters, specifically as follows:

- Contribute to clarifying some basic concepts such as: Political Party, Leading Party, Ruling Party, Communist Party, Communist Party of Vietnam, People; clarifying the viewpoints of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought on the relationship between the Party and the People;

- Clarify the nature, content and factors affecting the relationship between the Party and the People; principles and conditions to ensure the connection between the Party and the People, as a theoretical and practical basis for the Party in building unity and solidarity between the Party and the People.

- Survey the current status of the relationship between the Party and the People, clarify the causes of achievements, limitations and issues arising in the relationship between the Party and the People in the current period.

- Propose directions and a system of diverse and practical solutions to further strengthen the relationship between the Party and the People in the current period.

Serve as reference material for research and teaching of related issues in the fields of political theory science; at the same time serve as reference material for leaders and managers in researching the innovation of the political system in Vietnam today.
