10. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
This dissertation is the first specialized study exploring literary memoirs of modern Vietnamese writers from both content and artistic perspectives, focusing on representative memoir authors from a genre viewpoint. Based on this, it affirms the significant contribution and position of literary memoirs in the formation and development of the memoir genre in general and the memoir in particular.
This dissertation provides information on the state of research on literary memoirs of modern Vietnamese writers, along with some basic issues related to the topic from the perspective of genre theory, literary history, and the authors and memoir works from the first half of the 20th century to the present.
This dissertation clearly defines the characteristics of the literary memoir genre; classifies memoirs; examines the formation and development of literary memoirs in modern Vietnamese literature; identifies the outstanding features of literary memoirs by Vietnamese writers in their realistic portrayal of society and literature of a bygone era; in their strong expression of the author's self; and in their diverse and unique artistic forms. It explores, analyzes, and evaluates the development of literary memoirs and the work of representative memoir writers. The dissertation meets the needs of research and appreciation of literary memoirs, affirming their contributions to social life and, especially, to the development of the genre.
The dissertation makes documentary contributions (collecting over 50 literary memoirs) providing a practical source of reference materials for the study and teaching of modern Vietnamese literature.

10. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
The thesis is the first project focusing on studying literary memoirs of modern Vietnamese writers on two aspects of content and art, with the typical cases of memoir authors from the genre perspective. On that basis, the thesis highlights the significant contributions and position of writers in literary memoir genre in the process of foundation and development of literature in general and memoir in particular.
The thesis provides information in detail about the current study of literary memoir of modern Vietnamese authors and some basic issues related to the subject seen from the genre theory, literary history, authors and memoirs from the first half of the twentieth century up to the present.
The thesis defines characteristics of literary memoir genre; classifies various types of memoir narrative; the process of formation and development of literary memoirs in Vietnamese modern literature; identifies the distinct features of literary memoir of Vietnamese writers featured in its ability of representing society and literature of the past, the personal voice of its author, as well as creativity in diverse and unique art forms; analyzes and evaluates the development of literary memoirs and typical literary memoir writers. The thesis has met the needs of research, appreciating literary memoirs; confirms the contribution of literary memoir in social life, particularly in terms of developing memoir genre.
The thesis contributes much in terms of materials (collecting more than 50 works of literary memoir), providing practical references for researching, teaching, and learning Vietnamese modern literature.
