10. Summary of new results of the thesis:

The thesis has established the concepts of "political speech" and "Vietnamese political speech";

The thesis establishes four groups of common expressions of address bearing the mark of personal power and collective power that perform the function of impact in Vietnamese political speech.

The thesis has identified and analyzed the advantages of three groups of arguments when participating in the impact function in Vietnamese political speeches, including: simple arguments, complex arguments; homogeneous arguments, anti-homogeneous arguments and explicit arguments, implicit arguments. The use of argument types depends on the cognitive level of the listener, the content of the problem and the communication situation. The argument of the speech is a sharp weapon to persuade the listener.

The thesis also pointed out the contribution of rhetorical metaphors and repetition in Vietnamese political speeches when affecting listeners to enhance the aesthetic value, expressive value, and information value of Vietnamese political speeches and create a personal mark for politicians.

The thesis has made some recommendations for Vietnamese political speech writers in choosing and using terms of address, arguments, means and rhetorical devices to have the strongest impact on the speech recipients.

11. Practical application:

The thesis is a linguistic research work, the research results of the thesis can contribute to building the theoretical basis for the subjects "The art of oral speech", "Genres of oral speech", "Political communication skills", "Communication and negotiation in international relations", "Leadership and management skills" of the Department of Political Science and Journalism at the Academy of Journalism and Propaganda. The research results of the thesis can also be a reference for politicians or those whose jobs require public speaking; for those who are interested in political speeches.

12. Further research directions:

Research on modality or speech acts, operators and argumentative conjunctions in Vietnamese political speech; research on the function of impact in spoken discourse; compare Vietnamese political speech with political speech in other languages ​​in the world.

10.1. The thesis has developed the concept of "political speeches" and "Vietnamese political speeches";

10.2. The thesis established four groups of address expressions common words marked personal power and authority to perform the conative function of Vietnamese political speeches.

10.3. Thesis was to identify and analyze the advantages of the three participating groups argued in performing the impact of Vietnamese political speeches including single argument, complex reasoning; arguments co-direction, argued against explicit instruction and argument, the argument implies. The use of arguments depends on the level of awareness of the audience, content and context issues communicated. Speech argument is sharp weapon to convince the listener;

However, the research results of the thesis can contribute to building the theoretical basis for some courses at Journalism at Academy of Journalism and communication, such as: "Public speaking", "Political Communication skills", "Communication and negotiation in international relations", "Management and leadership skills", ... The results of the thesis also be references to politicians or those whose job requires public speaking; for those who are interested in political speeches.

12. Further research directions, if any:

The research results of the thesis might suggest some content for future research projects. To learn the power is realized in political speeches can survey the modality or speech arts. Should take an interest in operators and logical connections in political discourse Vietnamese.
