This dissertation delves into the case study, specifically the people's struggle movement in Western European countries, with the following main new findings:
- A systematic study of the struggle against the US invasion of Vietnam (1954-1975) by the people's movements in several representative Western European countries. Through this, it clarifies the role of the people's movements in Western European countries in opposing the US invasion of Vietnam as a positive factor contributing to the overall victory of the nation.
- Evaluate the results of the activities, analyze the objectives of the struggle, and identify the main characteristics, causes of success, and limitations of the Western European popular movement.
- Based on historical experience, this study begins by applying the experience of international solidarity and the mobilization of forces to the struggle to protect sovereignty and territorial integrity in our country today.

The thesis focuses on the people movements to oppose the American invasions of Vietnam in a number of European countries. It has some major contributions as follows:
- Systematic examination of the struggle against the American invasion of Vietnam (1954-1975) by the people in major countries in Western Europe. It helps to clarify the contribution of the people in some Western European countries in the Vietnam's national war against American invasion.
- Analyzing the objectives of the struggle, the main characteristics, results and causes of success and limitations of the anti-American war movements by the people in Western European countries.
- Offering lessons to protect sovereignty and territorial integrity in Vietnam's today based on the historical experience.
