3.1. Main results

- Overview of previous research works to obtain a relatively complete and valuable source of theoretical and practical reference information for research on access to and use of domestic water by resettled people and factors affecting this issue.

- Present theoretical basis: system of concepts, theories, research methods and overview of research area.

- Analyze the current status of access and use of water by resettled people in Hanoi in terms of: access to information, services, water prices, water quality and water use behavior, and water use methods. In addition, the thesis integrates "vertical" comparisons between the research results of the thesis with other studies and "horizontal" comparisons to show the differences in access and use of domestic water among resettled groups in terms of household size and composition, income, living area and other factors.

- Point out the responses of resettled people in Hanoi in accessing and using domestic water (responses at two levels: household level and community level) and explain the problem from a social perspective through sociological theories.

3.2. Conclusion

- People in some resettlement areas in Hanoi are currently still facing difficulties in accessing and using domestic water. Specifically: not having full access to information about water, domestic water is not enough to meet people's needs, quality is not guaranteed, water prices are high. In using water, depending on the location and type of water accessible, people use different types of water for different domestic purposes.

- Factors affecting the access and use of water by resettled people are state policies, the actual implementation and management of relevant parties in resettlement areas and the current status of social service infrastructure for water in resettlement areas. In addition, households with different characteristics in terms of size, living standards and type of resettlement housing also have differences in access and use of water.

- Difficulties in accessing and using domestic water have greatly affected the daily lives of resettled people and have also caused much frustration in the resettled community about this issue. In the difficult situation of accessing and using water, resettled people have responded flexibly at two levels: household and community level.

- Proper implementation of the roles of stakeholders along with raising awareness, participation and self-management capacity of people will contribute to improving access to and use of domestic water in resettlement areas, contributing to ensuring stable life for this population.
