10. Summary of the thesis results:
The topic of Poland-EU relations (2004-2015) is studied in three chapters. In Chapter 1, the author analyzes the factors affecting Poland-EU relations in the regional and global context; the relationship between the two entities before accession – creating the foundation for relations after 2004; and outlines Poland's policy towards the European Union and vice versa.
Based on the influencing factors combined with international relations research methods and dialectical scientific thinking, Chapter 2 of this thesis focuses on in-depth research into the current state of relations between two entities in the fields of politics, economics, security and defense, and other areas during the period 2004-2015, by selecting prominent events and issues that influenced the relationship between a member state and a regional institution.
Based on the current situation, the thesis presents observations on the relationship between the two entities in Chapter 3 through an analysis of the characteristics of the relationship, the advantages and difficulties that still exist in the relationship between the two. Through this, it draws policy suggestions for Vietnam in its relations with ASEAN as well as bilateral and multilateral relations with EU member states, including Poland. It is particularly noteworthy that Poland – a former member of the Eastern Bloc – its accession to the EU, and the overall integration process, will provide valuable information to assist Vietnam in its regional and international integration.
11. Practical applications:
This research contributes to providing materials on European studies, serving the research on former Eastern European countries and the EU. Given the lack of a systematic and comprehensive study on the relationship between Poland and the European Union in Vietnam, this topic will fill a gap in international relations research in Vietnam. Furthermore, Poland's integration into the EU will also provide valuable lessons for Vietnam, especially in its relationship with regional institutions like ASEAN.
12. Future research directions: Continue monitoring and researching this relationship in subsequent phases; or expand the scope of research to include the relationship between the EU and former Central and Eastern European member states, such as Poland.
