10. Summary of the thesis results:
This thesis is a research study on the current state of media coverage of saltwater intrusion on regional radio and television stations in the Mekong Delta. Through the application of journalistic and television theories, the thesis addresses a specific practical issue: improving the quality of news reports, documentaries, and thematic television programs on climate change in general and saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta in particular.
This research topic contributes to clarifying the role of television in the prevention, control, and response to climate change and saltwater intrusion, and also points out that: “Television not only has the task of providing information about saltwater intrusion; disseminating the Party's guidelines, the State's policies, and the directives of all levels of government on saltwater intrusion, but also popularizing knowledge and guiding people on how to effectively respond to climate change and saltwater intrusion. From there, television contributes to mitigating the severe consequences caused by saltwater intrusion such as: uncontrolled migration; food insecurity; increased social evils…, and also contributes to the effort of making the people prosperous and the nation strong.”
This thesis proposes several solutions to innovate and improve the quality of communication on climate change, including the issue of saltwater intrusion, on local radio and television stations in the Mekong Delta region.
The research findings of this thesis provide a basis for reporters and journalists to adjust the way they present television news reports on saline intrusion issues, effectively leveraging the advantages of television journalism. Simultaneously, it serves as a reference for regional radio and television stations in the Mekong Delta, helping them develop appropriate solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of their local broadcasts. The thesis is an executive director of the work of transmitting information about monopoly on Radio and Television Stations in the Mekong Delta. Through the application of theses on journalism, television, the thesis solves a specific problem in practice, which is to improve the quality of works, reportages, television topics on climate change in general and imported from the Mekong Delta region.
The topic contributes to familiarization with the media game in the prevention, control and response to climate change and saltwater import and also shows that: “Television is not only responsible for providing information on saltwater intrusion; propagating the Party's guidelines, the State's policies, the directives of the authorities at all levels on imported goods, but also popularizing knowledge and orienting people to know how to deal with climate change and television imports.
