Congress of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: Innovation – Democracy – Unity – Development – ​​Humanism

The Congress was honored to welcome the leaders of the Trade Union of Hanoi National University, delegates from the Trade Unions of universities under the Hanoi National University Trade Union, and universities in the cluster of 5 universities in Hanoi with close and effective cooperation in trade union activities; members of the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the University; the Youth Union and Student Association of the University; and former leaders of the Trade Union from previous terms.

The Congress heard the Report summarizing the 2023-2025 term and the direction for the 2025-2030 term, as well as the Report on the performance review of the Executive Committee. The 2023-2025 term of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities took place in the context of the University promoting university autonomy, organizational restructuring, and strong digital transformation. Although it only lasted two and a half years, with the unity, consensus, dedication, and responsibility of the Trade Union, the University comprehensively achieved the set goals in all areas of activity.
The trade union fully implements the study and understanding of resolutions and policies of the Party, the State, and higher-level trade unions. Propaganda activities are innovated with the application of technology, helping to disseminate information quickly and accurately and creating consensus among staff and workers. Thematic activities and programs commemorating major holidays are organized solemnly, contributing to fostering political awareness and traditional education among staff and workers throughout the school.
The Trade Union closely collaborates with the School in developing and monitoring the implementation of policies and regulations; it pays attention to the health of employees through maintaining regular health check-ups; visiting and supporting those who are sick or in difficulty; and effectively maintaining the "Humanitarian" Fund. These welfare activities are timely and practical, demonstrating concern for the lives of each employee.
While not replacing the government in its work, the trade union collaborates with the administration in organizing numerous professional seminars and supporting lecturers in improving their teaching and research capabilities. Programs on digital transformation and AI application are being strongly implemented, demonstrating the rapid adaptability and innovative spirit of the trade union team.
The trade union maintains and organizes many competitive activities, exchanges, cultural performances, and traditional sports competitions, achieving many successes at the Hanoi National University level. These activities not only improve health and morale but also contribute to creating a friendly and united cultural environment.
The Trade Union organizes many activities for female staff members such as talk shows, seminars, recognition programs, and skills training, attracting widespread participation and creating a positive impact throughout the school. The Trade Union actively participates in community programs such as visiting wounded soldiers, supporting disaster-stricken areas, and donating gifts to students in disadvantaged areas… These programs are consistently implemented annually, demonstrating a strong sense of humanity and profound social responsibility.

Comrade Nguyen Van Thuy - Vice Chairman of the School's Trade Union, 31st term, presented the Report summarizing the work of the period 2023-2025 and the direction and tasks for the term 2025-2030. Comrade Vu Thi Thu Hang - Standing Committee Member of the School's Trade Union, 31st term - presented the Review Report of the School's Trade Union Executive Committee.

Speaking at the Congress, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao, President of the Trade Union of Hanoi National University, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the University's Trade Union during the past term. She emphasized that the University's Trade Union has demonstrated strong capabilities in areas seemingly not considered strengths of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, especially technology, digital transformation, and the application of AI in trade union and professional activities. This is clear evidence of the innovative spirit, dynamism, creativity, and professionalism of the University's trade union officials and staff. The University's trade union activities are always organized on a large scale, professionally, systematically, and with a strong humanistic focus.
The Congress received four in-depth presentations from departmental trade unions, focusing on current issues such as university autonomy, enhancing professional capacity, solutions for connecting union members, and promoting the role of trade unions in community activities. These opinions made a significant contribution to building the direction of the University's Trade Union's activities for the next term.

Associate Professor Bui Thanh Nam - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, delivered a speech guiding the Congress. Comrade Nguyen Thi Thao - President of the Trade Union of Hanoi National University - delivered a speech guiding the Congress.

The Congress proceeded to elect the Executive Committee of the Trade Union for the 32nd term, consisting of 11 members, elected 12 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate to attend the Congress of the Trade Union of Hanoi National University, and unanimously approved the Draft Resolution of the Congress.
At the first meeting of the new Executive Committee of the Trade Union, the Executive Committee elected a Standing Committee consisting of 3 members: Ms. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh - President of the School's Trade Union; Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy - Vice President of the School's Trade Union; and Ms. Vu Thi Thu Hang - Standing Committee Member. A Supervisory Committee consisting of 3 members was also elected: Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy - Chairman, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Member, and Mr. Trinh Van Bang - Member.
On behalf of the Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term, Comrade Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh respectfully thanked the Congress for its trust in electing capable, reputable, dedicated, and responsible comrades to the new leadership team of the School's Trade Union. She expressed the Executive Committee's shared commitment to unity, dedication, creativity, and determination to successfully implement the Congress's Resolution, contributing to the increasingly strong development of the School.
With the motto "Innovation - Democracy - Unity - Development - HumanismThe 32nd Congress of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was successfully concluded, ushering in a term with many new expectations and making an important contribution to the sustainable development of the University in the new era, the era of national progress. The Executive Committee of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, 32nd term, was introduced to the Congress and assumed its duties.   The Party Committee, the Youth Union, and the Student Association congratulate the Congress on its success. The Trade Union Executive Committee expresses its gratitude to the generations of trade union officials throughout the years. The Congress expressed gratitude to the members of the 31st Executive Committee who were not re-elected, acknowledging their practical and sustained contributions to overall development.
