In accordance with Official Letter No. 219-CV/VPTW dated March 10, 2021, from the Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam regarding the nomination of candidates for the 15th National Assembly, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) has implemented the nomination process and organized a conference to gather opinions from voters at their workplaces regarding the candidates proposed for the 15th National Assembly.
Attending the Conference were Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Director of VNU Hanoi, Nguyen Kim Son; the Board of Directors of VNU Hanoi; and a large number of voters who are civil servants, employees, and workers of VNU Hanoi.

Comrade Nguyen Hoang Hai - Standing Deputy Secretary, Standing Deputy Director of VNU Hanoi and Comrade Vo Thi Minh Trang - President of the Trade Union of VNU Hanoi's Agency presided over the Conference.
Comrade Nguyen Kim Son, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Council, and Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is the candidate nominated by the Central Party Office to run for the 15th National Assembly.
The conference heard a report from Comrade Vo Thi Minh Trang on the selection and nomination process and criteria for National Assembly delegates of the 15th term according to the Law on National Assembly Elections, and a summary of the biography of Comrade Nguyen Kim Son.

Chairman of the Science and Training Council of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Vu Minh Giang, delivered a speech.

Head of Training Department, VNU Hanoi, Nguyen Dinh Duc, delivered his remarks.

Nguyen Minh Phuong, Chief of the Northwest Program Office, delivered his remarks.
At the Conference, voters from the Vietnam National University, Hanoi expressed their opinions, comments, and assessments of the nominated candidate. Accordingly, the opinions unanimously highly appreciated Comrade Nguyen Kim Son as a person with competence, intelligence, qualifications, political and moral qualities, vision, and the ability to listen to the voices of the voters. Comrade Nguyen Kim Son fully meets the conditions and standards for a National Assembly representative as stipulated by law and is entirely worthy of being a National Assembly representative in the 15th term.

At the conference, 100% of the voters from the Vietnam National University, Hanoi present voted in favor of nominating Comrade Nguyen Kim Son - Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi - as a candidate for the 15th National Assembly.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Kim Son thanked the voters of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi for their trust in nominating him as a candidate for the 15th National Assembly; and pledged to wholeheartedly serve the cause of the Party, the State, and the people. Comrade Nguyen Kim Son is very aware that running for the National Assembly is a task assigned by the Party. This is a great honor, but also a very high responsibility.

| A brief biography of Comrade Nguyen Kim Son:
Born in 1966 in Tan Trao commune, Kien Thuy district, Hai Phong city. Joined the Communist Party of Vietnam in 2000. Received a Bachelor's degree in Literature in 1990 from Hanoi University (now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi); PhD in Vietnamese Literature in 1996; postdoctoral research on Confucian thought in Vietnam at Harvard University, USA (2007-2008). Appointed Associate Professor in 2005. Some of the leadership and management positions I have held include: April 1991 to February 1999: Faculty member, Department of Literature; March 1999 to March 2002: Faculty member of the Faculty of Literature; Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; April 2002 to March 2003: Deputy Director of the Center for Chinese Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
