
Voting at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities began at 7:00 AM in the lobby of the first floor of building E. This is polling station number 14 of Thanh Xuan Trung Ward, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi City. Voters arrived on time, completed health declarations, had their temperature checked, and sanitized their hands before entering to vote.

Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) shared:The school strictly and closely implemented safe election procedures, providing detailed guidance to voters. Information about the candidates was also sent to students in advance. The school also seriously implemented disease prevention measures. Voters were required to fill out health declarations, have their temperature checked, sanitize their hands, and maintain social distancing throughout the election process. Students voting for the first time were also very excited and enthusiastic to participate in this nationwide event, exercising their rights and responsibilities as citizens, as well as demonstrating the close cooperation between the school and the government, the teachers in the Election Steering Committee, and the student voters.

Associate Professor Lai Quoc Khanh (Vice Rector of the University, Head of the Election Steering Committee) emphasized: "Elections are a great festival for the entire nation, a broad democratic activity, and an important political event in the social life of the country and each locality. The vast majority of 675 first-time voters have the honor of casting their ballots to exercise their right and responsibility as masters of their own destiny. The University deeply believes that the voters will wisely choose the most outstanding individuals, possessing both virtue and talent, worthy of representing all strata of the people in the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term."

The election process was orderly, serious, compliant with regulations, and safe, with clear assignments among the units. The school also prepared scenarios and response plans for unforeseen situations to ensure the election was successful and safe.

For the first time holding a ballot to participate in an election, voters were nervous but also excited as they shared in the joy of people across the country.

The number of voters participating in today's election is 675, accounting for more than 10% of the total number of students currently studying at the school. The expected number of voters is over 2000. However, due to the complex developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, many students have returned to their hometowns or participated in the election at other locations in Hanoi. For these cases, the school has promptly arranged for them to re-register and reported the matter to higher authorities.

Hoang Thi Phuoc (K62 - Psychology Department) expressed: "This is my first time participating in an election, and I'm quite nervous. I woke up early to prepare to go to school. At the polling station, all the necessary supplies for COVID-19 prevention were prepared. We were required to fill out health declarations, have our temperatures checked, and sit with social distancing during the voting process. Beforehand, I had thoroughly researched the candidates at home, so all the procedures on election day went very quickly, objectively, and efficiently."

Voters received guidance and support from student volunteers belonging to the University's Student Shock Team.

Pham Quang Vu, a member of the Student Volunteer Team, expressed: “As volunteers, leading the way in supporting students participating in the election, we are determined to uphold a sense of responsibility while also remaining vigilant against the Covid-19 pandemic. After completing our assigned tasks, I will also proceed with my own election work.”

The voting period will last until 7 PM on May 23rd.
