Connecting schools and businesses in training human resources for document management and archiving.

The training course "Document Management and Archiving (with internship)" commenced on June 22, 2026, under the auspices of the Faculty of Archival Studies and Office Management, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the Vinacomin Business Administration School. It attracted 50 participants, including officials and employees from member units of the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group.

The course is organized to enhance professional capacity, update new regulations on document management and archiving, and meet the requirements of digital transformation in business management, contributing to building a team of administrative, office, document management, and archiving staff with professional qualifications and skills to meet practical requirements.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Hong Duy - Deputy Head of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management - emphasized that in the context of the strong digital transformation taking place in all fields, document management and archiving are increasingly playing an important role in information management, data management, and ensuring the operational activities of agencies, organizations, and businesses. Therefore, regularly updating knowledge and improving professional capacity for staff working in document management and archiving is an urgent requirement.

Dr. Nguyen Hong Duy delivered the opening remarks for the training course.

The course is conducted over 5 days in a concentrated format, with a training program designed to closely integrate theory and practice, emphasizing applicability and the ability to implement it in real-world business settings.

The program focuses on updating new legal regulations on document management and archiving; organizing and managing documents and records in an electronic environment; creating electronic files; collecting, organizing, and determining the value of documents; preserving and utilizing archival documents; and equipping participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively implement electronic document management and archiving in businesses today.

The course is taught by a team of experienced lecturers and experts from the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Hanoi. Using modern, learner-centered teaching methods, the lecturers not only provide specialized knowledge but also share many practical situations and experiences in implementing document management and archiving work in agencies, organizations, and businesses.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Duc Thuan - Head of the Archival Studies Department, shared a presentation on the topic "Organization and Management of Document and Archival Work".

Dr. Tran Thanh Tung – Deputy Head of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management – ​​shared a presentation on the topic "Management of documents, seals, and secret key storage devices".

Ms. Le Thi Nguyet Luu shared a presentation on the topic "Creating, submitting, and archiving current records".

One of the highlights of the program is the internship and practical learning activity at the archives of the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group. Through this activity, trainees have the opportunity to directly observe the process of organizing, managing, preserving, and accessing documents; learn about the application of information technology in document management; and exchange and share experiences with the staff directly involved in document management and archiving at the unit.

Through organizing the training course "Document Management and Archiving (with internship)" for the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group, the Faculty of Archival Studies and Office Management continues to affirm its role as a unit for training, developing, and providing high-quality human resources in the field of document management, archiving, and office management; while also contributing to strengthening the link between the school and businesses, meeting the requirements of management innovation and sustainable development in the current period.
