Opening of the 322nd AUN-QA: USSH's Bachelor of Anthropology program is accredited according to international standards

The opening ceremony of the 322nd AUN-QA Training Program Quality Assessment at VNU was solemnly held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU on the morning of March 21, 2023, in which the USSH Bachelor of Anthropology program was assessed in this assessment.
On behalf of AUN-QA, there was the participation of Prof. Dr. Herman Parung, Hasanuddin University (Indonesia) - Head of the evaluation team, along with the evaluation team and the AUN-QA Secretariat.
On the side of Hanoi National University, there were Dr. Nghiem Xuan Huy - Director of the Institute for Education Quality Assurance - Hanoi National University, Prof. Dr. Vu Hoang Linh - Rector of the University of Natural Sciences; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Que Anh - Rector of the University of Law.
The 322nd AUN-QA training program assessment activity at Vietnam National University, Hanoi focused on 04 training programs of member universities of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, including: Bachelor of Anthropology - University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Bachelor of Mathematics and Computer Science - University of Natural Sciences; Master of Hydrology - University of Natural Sciences; Master of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law - University of Law.
 
On the side of Hanoi National University, there were the leaders of the Institute for Education Quality Assurance and leaders of member universities whose training programs were evaluated at the 322nd AUN-QA accreditation session.

Dr. Nghiem Xuan Huy - Director of the Institute for Education Quality Assurance - VNU delivered the opening speech at the 322nd AUN-QA Training Program Evaluation at VNU
 
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the working program, Dr. Nghiem Xuan Huy - Director of the Institute for Education Quality Assurance - VNU said: “Ensuring education quality is an annual and regular task of VNU. Currently, 53.6% of the Bachelor's training programs of VNU member schools have been accredited, of which international accreditation accounts for 30% of the total. These are remarkable figures, demonstrating the university's continuous efforts in improving training quality, consolidating the position and standing of VNU member universities in the national and regional higher education system.
To fulfill this mission, VNU organizes the Opening Ceremony of External Evaluation of 04 training programs, marking an important milestone in the continuous effort to achieve excellence in education.”
According to Dr. Nghiem Xuan Huy, when complying with AUN-QA educational accreditation standards, important aspects of the training program such as: program objectives and expected learning outcomes, teaching content, pedagogical methods, assessment methods, quality assurance activities, lecturers and students, facilities and student support, etc. will be evaluated and proposed for improvement. This evaluation process is a valuable opportunity for VNU to receive international comments and experiences from educational experts from leading universities in the region.
The feedback from AUN-QA experts on the training programs will help VNU member schools identify the strengths and weaknesses of the evaluated programs, as well as opportunities to improve the overall training quality at VNU. In particular, the results of this process will help improve the competitiveness of VNU students in the labor market, while contributing positively to broader social development.

In particular, assessment according to AUN-QA standards is the university's major goal to improve the quality of training programs of international stature. USSH's training programs have been accredited by AUN-QA including: Bachelor's program in Linguistics, Bachelor's program in Oriental Studies, Bachelor's program in Philosophy, Bachelor's program in Literature, Bachelor's program in Sociology, Bachelor's program in Psychology and in 2023, the Bachelor's program in Anthropology will be evaluated.
AUN-QA(ASEAN University Network - Quality Assurance) is a specialized network on quality assurance in higher education of AUN, established with the mission of promoting quality assurance activities at higher education institutions, improving the quality of higher education and cooperating with domestic and foreign organizations. AUN currently has 30 members, including Vietnamese members: VNU Hanoi, VNU Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho University.
Participation in AUN-QA accreditation of universities will bring value to beneficiaries such as:
- Students: The first beneficiaries of this program quality assessment are the students. Students will benefit from a training program with continuously improved quality, in all aspects such as the program framework, subjects, lecturers and teaching activities, and student support activities.
- Lecturers, employers:
Employers: have the opportunity to use higher quality human resources.
Lecturers are taught to excellent students, research and teach in an international environment, especially having more opportunities to exchange and learn with international partners and improve themselves to improve their professional qualifications, skills, and foreign language proficiency (English) to meet the requirements of the program.
