1. Admission objects
1.1. General regulations on admission subjects- People who have been recognized as graduating from high school in Vietnam or have a foreign diploma recognized as equivalent;
- People who have a secondary vocational diploma in the same field of study as the applying field and have completed the required amount of high school cultural knowledge as prescribed by law (hereinafter referred to as high school graduates);
- Have good health to study according to current regulations.
1.2. Admission target groups
1.2.1. Target group 1: Candidates eligible for direct admission and priority admission according to the current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and TrainingEducation and Training (Education and Training)a) Candidates eligible for direct admission:
- Hero of Labor, Hero of People's Armed Forces, National Emulation Fighter;
- Candidates who won first, second, or third prizes in national or international competitions for excellent students or national or international science and technology competitions organized and sent to participate by the Ministry of Education and Training; the time of winning the prize must not exceed 3 years from the time of direct admission;
- Candidates with severe disabilities must have a certificate of disability issued by a competent authority as prescribed;
- Candidates must have permanent residence for 3 years or more, studied for 3 years and graduated from high school in extremely disadvantaged communes according to Government regulations.
- Candidates are foreigners whose Vietnamese knowledge and proficiency test results meet current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and VNU;
- Candidates who are ethnic minority university preparatory students have their application sent to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities by ethnic minority university preparatory training schools.
b) Candidates with priority for admission: Candidates who won consolation prizes in the national excellent student selection exam; candidates who won fourth prizes in national science and technology competitions applying for admission to majors suitable for the exam subjects or the content of the competition topics in which they won prizes; the time of winning the prize must not exceed 3 years from the time of admission;
1.2.2. Target group 2:Candidates eligible for direct admission and priority admission according to specific regulations of VNUa) Direct admission subjects:
High school students in the specialized system of VNU and specialized systems/classes of specialized high schools at provincial and municipal levels, and key national high schools are considered for direct admission to university level in majors suitable for the exam subjects or content of the competition topics in which the candidates have won prizes.
(mThe candidate must have won a prize in the admission combination of the registered major/training program or have a project content, scientific research topic in 2 fields: social and behavioral sciences; business and management)If you graduate from high school, have 3 years of good conduct in high school and meet one of the following criteria:
+Won official prizes in regional and international science and technology exhibitions and innovation competitions;
+Won official prizes in high school Olympic exams of VNU;
+Won the official prize in the exam to select excellent high school students at VNU;b) Priority admission subjects:
- High school graduates, with Good academic performance, Good conduct in 3 years of high school, with high school graduation exam results reaching the input quality assurance threshold set by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and meeting ONE of the following criteria:
+Won first, second and third prizes in the High School Olympic exam of VNU;+
Being a member participating in the monthly contest of the program "Road to Olympia" organized annually by Vietnam Television and having an average high school GPA of 8.50 or higher (rounded to 2 decimal places);
+ Won First, Second, Third prizes in the provincial/municipal excellent student competition with the winning subject belonging to the admission group or the winning subject suitable for the training major and the average high school GPA is from 8.50 or higher (rounded to 2 decimal places).- Are non-specialized students of high schools under VNU and meet ONE of the following criteria:
+ Won First, Second, Third prizes in regional and international science and technology innovation competitions and exhibitions;
+ Won First, Second, Third prizes in the exam to select excellent high school students at VNU in Foreign Languages;
+ Have a minimum score of 90 points (on a 150-point scale) in the High School Competency Assessment exam organized by VNU.- High school students nationwide are considered for direct admission to the Basic Science majors of VNU (Political Science, Sino-Nom, History, Linguistics, Anthropology, Religious Studies, Philosophy, Literature, Vietnamese Studies) suitable for the exam subjects if they graduate from high school, have good academic performance, good conduct in 3 years of high school and meet the following criteria:
+ Won first, second and third prizes in the high school Olympic exam of VNU;
+ Won First, Second, Third prizes in the provincial/municipal excellent student competition with the winning subject belonging to the admission group or the winning subject suitable for the training major and the average high school GPA is from 8.50 or higher (rounded to 2 decimal places).Candidates who win prizes in high school years will have their results reserved when applying for university admission at VNU.
Note: Candidates with priority for admission must have high school graduation exam results in 2023 that meet the input quality assurance threshold of the industry/group of industries/training programs in the year of admission..
1.2.3. Group 3: Candidates with the results of the 2020 Competency Assessment Test (CAT)3Organized by VNU.Candidates with HSA exam results organized by VNU achieving at least 80/150 points or higher.
1.2.4. Group 4:Candidates with international certificatesa) Candidates with an international certificate from the Cambridge University Examinations Center, UK (Cambridge International Examinations A-Level, UK; hereinafter referred to as A-Level certificate): Candidates using an A-Level certificate have results of 3 subjects, including Math or Literature according to the prescribed combinations of the corresponding training major, ensuring that the score of each subject is from 60/100 points or higher (equivalent to grade C, PUM range ≥60);
b) Candidates with SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test, USA) scores of 1100/1600 or higher. VNU's registration code with the SAT testing organization (The College Board) is
7853-Vietnam National University-Hanoi (candidates need to declare the above registration code when registering for the SAT exam);
c) Candidates with ACT (American College Testing) standardized test scores of 22/36;
1.2.5. Group 5:Candidates with IELTS certificate and equivalent International English certificate or other international certificates(specified inAppendix 1)Candidates with an IELTS English certificate of 5.5 or higher or equivalent international English certificates or other international foreign language certificates and a total score of the remaining 2 subjects in the admission combination of the major/training program of at least 14 points in the 2023 high school graduation exam
(including Math or Literature)Admission score = English score or international language certificate converted to a 10-point scale (
as prescribed inAppendix 2) Multiply by coefficient 2 plus the total score of the remaining 2 subjects in the admission combination based on the 2023 high school graduation exam results.
1.2.6. Group 6:Candidates have the results of the capacity assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City National Universitye) Candidates with the Ho Chi Minh City National University (HCMC National University)'s competency assessment test results of at least 750/1200 points or higher.
1.2.7. Group 7:Candidates with high school graduation exam results in 20203- Candidates whose 2023 high school graduation exam results according to each admission group meet the input quality assurance threshold prescribed by VNU and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

In 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will enroll 2,000 full-time university students in 27 majors/training programs and allocate the enrollment quota according to each admission method as follows:

5. Some other information
5.1. About professional orientationa) Oriental Studies: The Oriental Studies training program includes 3 majors: Indian Studies, Thai Studies and Chinese Studies. After the first semester, the Oriental Studies Department will assign majors to first-year Oriental Studies students based on their wishes and academic performance in the first semester.

5.2. Training two training programs at the same time (dual degree):After completing the first year, full-time students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have the opportunity to study a second major in one of the following majors:
- Journalism, Management Science, Tourism and Travel Services Management, Office Management, International Studies, Psychology of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
- English Language Department, Korean Language Department, Japanese Language Department, Chinese Language Department of University of Foreign Languages.
- Faculty of Law, University of Law - Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Students who complete the training programs of both majors will receive two regular bachelor's degrees.
5.3. Information on tuition fees for the 2023-2024 school year:The University of Social Sciences and Humanities applies tuition fees for the 2023-2024 academic year (expected) as follows:
a) Standard training programs (except for quality-accredited training programs in section c): VND 1,500,000/month (VND 15,000,000/year), equivalent to VND 400,000/credit. The roadmap for increasing tuition fees is implemented according to Decree No. 81/2021/ND-CP dated August 27, 2021 of the Government regulating the mechanism for collecting and managing tuition fees for educational institutions in the national education system.
