From the second round of postgraduate admissions in 2022, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) will replace the traditional exam content of all 44 master's training majors (two-subject essay test, each subject lasts 180 minutes) with the form of evaluating candidates' profiles and interviewing candidates.
On May 27, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, said that the university's postgraduate admissions have many innovations in line with the methods applied by leading universities in the world. That is, instead of the traditional exam method, postgraduate admissions will switch to evaluating applications and interviews.
The content of the profile assessment aims to cover an overview of the candidate's academic ability, work experience as well as scientific research ability. The interview content includes questions focusing on assessing the professional knowledge of each major, along with the candidate's practical knowledge and experience in handling problems during the work process, thereby directly and more accurately assessing the candidate's suitability and ability to respond to the training program. This is also the admission method applied by leading universities in the world.
Among the 44 majors training at the Master's level, there are 13 majors recruiting candidates from all majors, including: Journalism (applied orientation), Public Policy; Political Science (applied orientation); Social Work (applied orientation); Tourism Studies; Library Information Science (applied orientation); Theory and History of Cinema and Television; Science and Technology Management (research orientation); Science and Technology Management (applied orientation); Cultural Management; Office Administration (applied orientation); Journalism and Media Administration; Religious Studies (applied orientation).
In addition, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, Hanoi applies a special direct admission policy for students with good or higher degrees in all majors that have been accredited according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training or prestigious accreditation organizations in the world (AUN-QA, ABET, etc.). In addition, excellent students are not only directly admitted to the right major but also selected for direct admission to suitable majors.
Notably, to facilitate candidates, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU also opened an admission portal.http://tssdh.vnu.edu.vnCandidates can register online and only have to submit their application documents after passing the exam and being admitted to the school. |
