The Japanese have a saying: “Ichigo Ichie” (一期一会 –One time one meeting), we can understand this proverb with the meaning: "Every meeting is precious, because it never repeats". For us, those who have had the opportunity to study at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, we consider this a precious "fate". The fate has connected people from strangers to acquaintances, connecting independent knowledge areas into a rich interdisciplinary body of knowledge. In particular, this is the fate that connects the ambitions and dreams of countless students with their own goals in the present and the future.
Whenever we mention the school we attend to our family, friends, colleagues or when we have the opportunity to participate in professional activities, we are extremely proud that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi not only has a long history but also a place with a systematic and professional way of organizing and operating the training and education process. With my learning experiences at the School, I feel confident and have full faith in an open and independent scientific path here: "Humanities is the foundation, modernity is the trend".
A learning journey full of difficulties and challenges but also extremely interesting experiences!
The past two years have been a difficult and challenging time for the whole nation and the world as we face the dangers of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, those difficulties have not dampened the will of the teachers and students of the School, but have made us stronger and more resilient to face all challenges in life. During the two years of my master's degree, I have had the opportunity to interact and study with beloved teachers, seniors and friends from many places, working in many different agencies and fields. We have been updated with new knowledge according to every movement of the economy, politics and society in the digital age.
I really miss the interesting evening and weekend classes with the extensive knowledge that the teachers have imparted to us. I will never forget the online classes and thesis defenses, especially during the hot days of Covid-19. I thought we would be far apart because we could only meet online through the computer screen, but after experiencing it, I realized that during the days of studying and working at home, we accompanied each other more, spent more time together, so in this way, everything became closer and more connected. That is probably also the "fate" that only the generation of students of QH-2018-X, QH-2019-X can experience.
Teachers are not only the ones who impart knowledge but also inspire, passion and noble literary spirit.
At this moment, I believe that the memories of the past two, three years of study are still like slow, slow films running through the minds of each student attending the Graduation and Diploma Ceremony today. Two, three years are like a precious journey, and now, each of us students is preparing to hold in our hands the sacred master's degree, the result of a long process of effort. However, with the results of that effort, we first want to dedicate them to the School, to the Teachers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Please allow me, on behalf of you and the students receiving the master's degree today, to send thousands of sincere and deepest gratitude to the teachers and leaders of the School; leaders of the Faculties, Institutes, Departments; teachers of the School's Graduate Training Department, of the Faculty, departments in the School and especially the group of teachers and instructors. The teachers have always cared for and instructed us wholeheartedly when we needed them, always accompanying us in most times and circumstances.
Thank you to the teachers who have guided and imparted knowledge with enthusiasm and a high sense of responsibility. Teachers are not only teachers but also close friends who are willing to discuss, share knowledge and improve their expertise with their students. The key is to help students apply that knowledge to their professional work and practical research.
Hanoi University of Humanities is still the top choice for the next stage of study at higher levels.
No matter where we go or what we do in the future, we will always be proud to be a part of Hanoi Humanities. The respectful and close image of our teachers has left beautiful and profound impressions in the minds of our generations of students. On the road ahead, we will constantly strive to effectively apply the knowledge learned from the School into practical work and life to affirm and spread to society the good values of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi: Pioneering - Creative - High quality - High level.
Finally, instead of saying goodbye today, I would like to send to you and all the new Masters a piece of advice from Albert Einstein that I really like: "Don't just try to become a successful person, but rather, become a valuable person". I believe that, with a heart full of enthusiasm in work and life, with the knowledge we have been cultivated at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, with the difficulties and challenges we have experienced, no matter how much life changes, as long as we keep trying, we will definitely become more perfect, more valuable and more successful. We also believe and hope that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will continue to accompany us at higher levels of education.
The fresh bouquet of flowers represents the deep gratitude of the masters to the school's Board of Directors and teachers who have wholeheartedly supported and accompanied the students during the past two years.
The first master's degree award ceremony of 2022 took place in the warmth of teacher-student relationship, the joy and excitement of the students, the encouragement, cheering and congratulations of family, relatives, friends and colleagues.
