Applying information technology in creating video lectures: not just a solution, but an inevitable trend.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan congratulated the 91 trainees, all lecturers of the university, on completing the training course. He expressed his delight and amazement at the elaborate, modern, and vibrant presentations of the projects, from the content design to the images and videos used. The academic scientific knowledge was transformed into highly engaging, interesting, and easy-to-understand video lectures with vivid images and sounds. This is not only a success of a course but also a necessary direction contributing to the innovation of higher education methods in the digital age.
Rector Hoang Anh Tuan also emphasized: “Technological changes are happening very rapidly, and the field of education is also greatly affected. Modern learning and teaching methods have been applied since students were in secondary school. Therefore, higher education also needs to change and apply information technology to teaching and learning, innovating methods to keep up with the changes in society. In particular, the application of IT in creating video lectures is one of the important solutions. The school is committed to supporting and assisting in organizing many courses and training sessions to improve the teaching capacity of the faculty.” Dr. Dao Minh Quan (lecturer of the course) shared: During the pandemic, the University of Humanities was a shining example of online teaching, applying information technology in online instruction. Therefore, applying information technology in teaching activities is no longer something unfamiliar. However, when taking on the role of guiding teachers in applying information technology to building e-learning lectures, I couldn't help but feel pressure and anxiety. In the first few sessions, the participating teachers faced many difficulties, and many were still wondering if they could do it. With the goal of the course being that after completion, the lecturers of the university will master design techniques and design software (Microsoft PowerPoint, Remove.bg, Bandicam…), effectively utilize free resources to apply them skillfully and creatively to build engaging, professional, and modern e-learning video lectures, the teachers all tried very hard, persevered, and focused during the practice process. Upon receiving the projects from the instructors at the end of the course, I was truly surprised and delighted. The projects were not only rich in ideas but also of excellent quality in terms of images and sound, vivid, and conveyed the lesson content in an engaging and easy-to-understand way, sparking students' interest in learning. This demonstrates the great creativity of the instructors.” Speaking on behalf of the course participants, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhu (Faculty of Philosophy) shared: "First of all, on behalf of all the participants, I would like to express our sincere and profound gratitude to the Board of Directors for their support and for creating the conditions to organize these very beneficial courses. The course was made possible with the guidance of Dr. Dao Minh Quan – a passionate and dedicated lecturer."
On the first day, we were amazed and delighted by the sample videos that Professor Quan introduced, but also quite apprehensive about whether we could replicate them because they were so modern. However, after much dedicated and specific guidance, and the patient instruction of Dr. Dao Minh Quan on each small step, we achieved results beyond our expectations. What we have learned from the class will greatly help in improving the quality of lectures for the teaching staff. We hope that in the future, the school will support us in organizing more training courses on the application of information technology in teaching activities.
