Applying information technology in creating video lectures: not only a solution but an inevitable trend

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan congratulated 91 students who are lecturers of the school for completing the training course. Having seen the products presented in today's closing ceremony, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan was very happy and surprised by the elaborate, modern and vivid design ideas, from the images and videos used. It is still academic scientific knowledge but has been transformed into extremely attractive, interesting and easy-to-understand video lectures with vivid images and sounds. This is not only the success of a course but also a necessary direction contributing to the innovation of university education methods in the digital age.
Principal Hoang Anh Tuan also emphasized: “The change of technology is happening very quickly, the education sector is also greatly affected. Modern learning and teaching methods have been applied since students were in high school. Therefore, higher education also needs to change and apply information technology to teaching, learning, and innovate methods to keep up with changes in society. In particular, the application of IT in building video lectures is also one of the important solutions. The school is committed to supporting and assisting in organizing many courses and trainings to improve the teaching capacity of the teaching staff”. Dr. Dao Minh Quan (lecturer of the class) shared: During the pandemic, the School of Humanities has been a bright spot in online teaching, applying information technology in online teaching. Therefore, applying information technology in teaching activities is no longer a strange thing. But when taking on the role of a guide for teachers in applying information technology to building electronic lectures, I could not avoid pressure and anxiety. In the first lessons, the participating teachers encountered many difficulties, many teachers were still wondering if they could do it. With the goal of the course, after completing the course, the school's lecturers will master design techniques, design software (Microsoft PowerPoint, Remove.bg, Bandicam ...), effectively exploit the free resource warehouse to apply skillfully and creatively to build attractive, professional and modern electronic lecture videos, so the teachers all tried very hard, persevered and focused during the practice process. At the end of the course, I was really surprised and happy to receive the products of the teachers. The products of the teachers are not only rich in ideas but also have good quality of images and sound, vivid, conveying the lesson content in an attractive, easy-to-understand way, arousing students' interest in learning. It proves that the creativity of the lecturers is very great." Representing the students of the course, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhu (Faculty of Philosophy) shared: First of all, on behalf of the students participating in the course, I would like to express my sincere and deep gratitude to the Board of Directors for supporting and creating conditions to organize these very useful courses. The course was accompanied by Dr. Dao Minh Quan - an enthusiastic and dedicated lecturer.
On the first day, we were amazed and excited by the sample videos that Mr. Quan introduced, but also very confused about whether we could do it because it was too modern. However, after many dedicated and specific instructions, and the patient guidance of each small operation by Dr. Dao Minh Quan, we had products beyond our expectations. What we have learned from the class will help a lot in improving the quality of lectures of the teaching staff. We hope that in the future, the school will support to have more training courses on applying information technology in teaching activities.
