As part of the activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, on March 12, 2023, at the Me Tri Dormitory Hall of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities hosted a piano performance by artist Ogawa Tomoko and a choral performance by the Hanoi Freude group. This program was also one of the official events recognized by the Embassy, which awarded it a 50th anniversary logo.
The organizing committee was deeply honored to welcome Mr. Yamada Takio, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam, and his wife, Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University. The program also received the participation of a large number of Japanese people currently residing in Hanoi, as well as students and alumni of the Japanese Department, Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

As part of the musical celebration, artist Ogawa Tomoko performed four works by the renowned composer Chopin, followed by an ensemble performance with Meritorious Artist violinist Nguyen Trong Binh and the Hanoi Freude Choir. Besides Chopin's familiar and world-famous works, the audience was also treated to a folk-inspired song composed during the Meiji era.

The program concluded with the lively sound of the song "Joining Hands in a Great Circle," reflecting the slogan of this grand anniversary year: "Holding hands, walking together towards the future."
