Speaking at the meeting, Vice Rector Lai Quoc Khanh thanked Professor Soong Jenn Jaw and the professors and scientists from National Cheng Kung University for their direct participation and significant contributions to the success of the "Research on Chinese Culture and Literature in the Context of Digital Transformation" conference held over two days in early April at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Vice Rector Lai Quoc Khanh also emphasized that, building on the effective cooperation between the two universities and the success of the conference, both sides should hold bilateral meetings to discuss specific collaborations in the future.
Professor Soong Jenn Jaw shared: "During the implementation of the project 'The Political Economy of Asian States and Their Development Strategies under USA-China Power Rivalry: Conducting Hedging Strategy on Triangular Relation and Operation,' my colleagues and I were very interested in learning about Vietnam's foreign policy and strategies towards other countries in the region and around the world, especially in the context of complex changes in international relations. We know that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a leading institution for training and research in the fields of social sciences and humanities, with many experienced experts participating in research projects on Vietnam's politics and foreign policy in its relations with the region and the world. Therefore, we very much wanted to meet and exchange ideas with experts and scientists and to have concrete collaborations with the University to jointly research issues of mutual interest."

Professor Soong Jenn Jaw shared specific information about the project that National Cheng Kung University is implementing and expressed her desire to hear feedback from experts at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Vice Rector Lai Quoc Khanh, along with representatives from the Faculty of Oriental Studies and International Studies, agreed with Professor Soong Jenn Jaw's proposal. The issue of international relations and the diplomatic strategies of nations in the context of a rapidly changing region and world is a matter of great interest to the Vietnamese academic community. However, to conduct in-depth, comprehensive, and thorough analyses, both sides need to jointly organize an international conference with the participation of leading experts in political science and international relations. The research results from the conference could then be compiled and published as a useful reference document in both Vietnam and Taiwan. Based on this, the two universities could expand research cooperation to the fields of history, culture, and language, as there is a great demand for understanding Vietnamese culture among Taiwanese people, especially those wishing to study or do business in Vietnam.
In addition, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is ready to welcome students, trainees, and lecturers from National Cheng Kung University, especially those currently implementing projects, to participate in long-term courses from bachelor's to doctoral levels, short-term courses, and thematic exchanges on culture, history, politics, religion, etc.
Professor Nguyen Van Khanh emphasized that both universities have very prestigious scientific journals, and cooperation should be promoted so that experts and lecturers can write and publish articles in these two journals.
Representatives from the Faculty of International Studies and Oriental Studies shared: Currently, there are not many studies on Taiwan in Vietnam, especially in-depth studies on politics, economics, and foreign policy. Therefore, the potential for cooperation between the two universities is very broad.
Concluding the meeting, Associate Professor Lai Quoc Khanh emphasized that after today's meeting, representatives from both sides will discuss and develop specific plans for student exchange activities, collaborative organization of seminars, implementation of research projects, and publication of scientific products, etc.
