Principal Hoang Anh Tuan also introduced to Deputy Minister Vu Chien Thang and the working delegation the activities and training results of the Religious Studies Department, University of Social Sciences and Humanities in recent years, and emphasized: The potential of the University is still very large, especially with a strong team of experts from the Department of Religious Studies, the Center for Contemporary Religious Studies and lecturers from many training units participating in teaching and in-depth research on religion, along with the support of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, certainly in the coming time the Religious Studies Department will develop further.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Vu Chien Thang shared: Religion and belief are always major issues that the Party and Government pay great attention to. With the diversity of religions and the large number of followers in Vietnam today, religion and belief affect all aspects of social life. However, in reality, the team participating in state management of religious and belief activities at the local level is lacking and has not been properly trained. Therefore, the Party and State's policies are consistent and very correct, but whether they are put into practice or not, it is necessary to have a team of officials with adequate expertise and knowledge of religion and religious management to carry out this work.
