Faculty members from the Faculty of Literature attended the international scientific conference on art and minority communities.

On December 19-20, 2025, a delegation of lecturers from the Faculty of Literature, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, attended the international conference "From Indigenous Memory to Global Perspectives: Art and Minority Communities from a Cross-Cultural Perspective," organized by Van Lang University and Tay Nguyen University in collaboration with the Institute of Literature and O Kia Hanoi Film Studio in Ho Chi Minh City and Dak Lak.
The conference is a large-scale interdisciplinary academic event, bringing together numerous researchers from leading educational institutions in Vietnam (Institute of Literature, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City; Hanoi Pedagogical University; Van Lang University; Tay Nguyen University; Ho Chi Minh City Pedagogical University; Da Nang Pedagogical University,...) and internationally (USA, Australia, India, Hungary...).

At Van Lang University, through plenary sessions and 9 specialized subcommittees, more than 100 full-text papers, after undergoing blind peer review, were presented and discussed with academic rigor, theoretical depth, and interdisciplinary connections. At Tay Nguyen University, scientific papers, roundtable discussions on the topic of “Landscape Criticism and Indigenous Studies in Vietnamese Art,” and art fieldwork demonstrated the profound connection between scientific research and the practical lives of Vietnamese ethnic minority communities, making many issues discussed at the conference concrete and vivid.
The workshop demonstrated the appeal of indigenous culture in the context of integration, opening up new approaches to the study of art and minority communities from a cross-cultural perspective, contributing to raising awareness among researchers and the public about ethnicity and nation in its wholeness and unity in diversity.

The delegation of lecturers from the Faculty of Literature attending the Conference included Dr. Nguyen Thi Nam Hoang - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Literature, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Cam Giang - former Head of the Department of Art Studies, currently Head of the Film and Popular Arts Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Ngoc Kien, Dr. Tran Thi Thuc, Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich, MSc. Le Nguyen Long, and MSc. Nguyen Dao Nguyen. The members of the delegation not only presented their research results and discussed and debated the papers in the program but also participated in the organization and directly managed the subcommittees at the Conference. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Cam Giang served as co-Head of the Conference Content Committee, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Ngoc Kien was a member of the Organizing Committee, and Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich was a member of the Conference Secretariat.

The participation of faculty members from the Faculty of Literature at the Conference demonstrates the Faculty's interest in interdisciplinary research issues, especially new approaches in literary and artistic research. This shows the adaptability and modernization of the faculty's thinking and working methods to improve the quality of research and teaching, contributing to the development of Vietnam's indigenous knowledge system in dialogue with global theories.
Attending the Conference not only affirms the academic standing of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the field of social sciences and humanities, but also demonstrates the University's commitment to collaborating with academic forums to promote dialogue, cultural diversity, and social equality in the context of current globalization.
