Professor Le Dinh Ky (1923 - 2009) was a famous talented and erudite teacher, one of the leading scientists in Literary Theory, who worked at the Faculty of Literature - Hanoi University from 1956 - 1980. He was awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts, the First Class Resistance Medal, the First Class Labor Medal, and the title of People's Teacher. The professor has hundreds of scientific articles and dozens of valuable scientific monographs.

“One hundred years since the birth of Professor, People's Teacher Le Dinh Ky"Held on the teacher's birthday, it is an opportunity to look back at the contributions of Professor Le Dinh Ky in the research and teaching of Literature, especially in the field of theoretical research and literary criticism, so that generations of lecturers and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU, who continue his academic and teaching path, can continue and create new achievements on the academic and research foundation that he has devoted himself to building.

Workshop to introduce the work
Once in a Hundred Years - Professor, People's Teacher, Literary Theorist and Critic Le Dinh Kyselected and introduced by researcher Tran Dinh Viet, published by Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House. The work consists of two parts, the first part is a collection of excerpts from Professor Le Dinh Ky's outstanding works such as Understanding Literature, The Tale of Kieu and Nguyen Du's Realism, New Poetry - Ups and Downs... The second part includes 30 articles by scholars, relatives and many generations of students about Professor Le Dinh Ky.
Professor, People's Teacher Le Dinh Kyborn on April 4, 1923 in Dien Hong commune, Dien Ban district, Quang Nam province.
After finishing primary school at a small school in his hometown, Mr. Le Dinh Ky went to Hue to study high school at Viet Anh private school and passed the first part of the baccalaureate exam there. He then transferred to study his final year of high school at Petrus Truong Vinh Ky school in Saigon. In 1944, after passing the second part of the baccalaureate exam, he returned to Quang Nam to teach and participate in the revolution. When Japan staged a coup against France, he was active in the Phan Anh youth movement in Quang Nam. When the August Revolution broke out, he participated in the uprising in Hoi An, worked in information and propaganda, popular education, and in 1949 he was honored to be admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam. From 1949 to 1951, he served in the army as Deputy Commander of Military Intelligence of Military Region V. Then, due to health reasons, he was discharged from the army and returned to his job as a teacher at Le Khiet High School, a famous school in Inter-Zone V from 1952 to 1954. In early 1955, he gathered in the North and continued teaching at high schools: Luong Ngoc Quyen High School, Thai Nguyen, Nguyen Trai High School, Hanoi.
In 1958, he was transferred to teach at the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi University of Science, which had just been established for two years. From then until 1980, for 23 years, he was a lecturer at the Department of Literary Theory, Faculty of Literature, Hanoi University of Science. A few years after the country was unified, in order to strengthen the teaching staff of universities in the South, he transferred to the University of Literature, Ho Chi Minh City, now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University, until his retirement.
With more than half a century of dedication to the education sector, Professor Le Dinh Ky has contributed to the training of thousands of students; successfully guided 10 doctoral theses and many master's theses. During 40 years of dedicated research, the professor has published 19 textbooks, essays, and literary research monographs of great value. With his great contributions to the cause of education and scientific research, in 1984 he was awarded the title of Professor; in 1988 he was awarded the title of People's Teacher by the State and was awarded noble awards and medals by the State: Third-class Victory Medal, First-class Resistance Medal, First-class Labor Medal and the State Prize for Literature and Arts in 2001.Below are some images recorded at the National Scientific Conference with the theme "
