At the conference, 10 reports (out of 32 printed in the conference proceedings) directly presented research results, revolving around two main themes.
The heritage of Ninh Binh pottery through different historical periods.and
Ninh Binh pottery craft: Preserving and promoting its value.Of particular note are reports presenting the results of excavations at the Man Bac archaeological site (Bach Lien village, Yen Thanh commune, Yen Mo district, discovered in 1998 and continuously excavated on a large scale for many years), showing that the site contains a massive amount of documentation on stone tools, pottery, plant and animal remains, and burial sites dating back nearly 4,000 years, reflecting very valuable information about the material and spiritual life of the ancient Vietnamese people during the Pre-Dong Son period.
Furthermore, many reports focus on researching and affirming the role of Ninh Binh pottery – a leading pottery center in Northern Vietnam. Simultaneously, numerous studies have presented a picture of the recovery and development of pottery production in Bo Bat and Gia Thuy pottery villages. Based on this, many models for preserving and promoting the value of ancient pottery heritage have been proposed, simultaneously increasing the value of the traditional craft and developing sustainable tourism, creating jobs for local people.
Representatives of the research team presented several reports at the conference.
Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman Tong Quang Thin highly appreciated the significance of today's workshop. The workshop was the result of close and effective cooperation between the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Faculty of History, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the enthusiastic participation and contributions of numerous scientists, archaeologists, cultural studies experts, and historians from research institutes and universities nationwide. Based on meticulous research, the scientists proposed solutions not only to preserve the cultural and historical values of Ninh Binh pottery but also to promote those values in the economic, cultural, and social development of the locality. The success of the workshop marks the beginning of a new type of heritage joining the rich and beautiful heritage landscape of Ninh Binh in the future.

Concluding the conference, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan reaffirmed: Recent archaeological discoveries have identified Ninh Binh as the birthplace of Vietnamese pottery from prehistoric times, 8,000-9,000 years ago. Since then, earthenware and porcelain pottery have always been present in the material and spiritual lives of Ninh Binh communities. Today's conference attracted the attention of hundreds of scientists, with 32 specialized reports focusing on clarifying the role and position of Ninh Binh pottery in Vietnamese history, while also proposing numerous solutions to restore and promote the historical, cultural, and economic value of this unique heritage. As a key training, research, and consulting center in the fields of history, culture, heritage, and conservation, and especially in harmonizing research and conservation with the exploitation and promotion of heritage, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will propose deeper and broader cooperation in the future, implementing a number of scientific activities to serve the socio-economic development strategy of Ninh Binh Province.
