The event was honored to welcome Mr. Miao Weicheng, Counselor, Embassy of China in Vietnam; Ms. Nguyen Bich Thuy, Deputy Director of the Multilateral Economic Cooperation Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Lich, former Head of the Department of International Economics, Diplomatic Academy; Dr. Luu Thuy Hong, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations, Academy of Journalism and Communication; and many experts researching international relations from several universities in Hanoi. The event also attracted the participation and support of nearly 400 students from three universities.
In his opening remarks, Vice Rector Dao Thanh Truong, representing the organizing unit, emphasized the significance of this event: it is a special event, building on the successes of knowledge-based competitions, research activities, and workshops from 2016 to the present, and also contributing to enhancing students' and the younger generation's understanding of the Mekong-Lancang region, creating a highly beneficial platform for students from the three universities to interact, exchange ideas, and hone their integration skills. We believe that students from the three universities will have wonderful experiences from this competition.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong delivered the opening remarks.
Vice Rector Dao Thanh Truong affirmed that in the coming time, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will be ready to accompany and contribute to the development of the project in particular and the network of young people who have matured from this project, focusing on international cooperation for academic and practical purposes.
Distinguished guests from the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and participating schools all highly appreciated the idea of organizing this competition, noting that it not only raises awareness among students and the community in general about Mekong-Lancang cooperation but also provides a valuable platform for students to interact, train, and demonstrate their understanding and responsibility regarding global and regional issues.

The judging panel consists of experts in international relations and international studies from three universities.
Following the welcoming remarks from the distinguished guests, the three teams (each consisting of 4 members) officially began their exciting, intense, and thrilling competitions through three rounds:
Round 1: We are from the Mekong-Lancang region.
Round 2: Cooperation for Sustainable Development in the Mekong-Lancang Region
Round 3: Promoting international cooperation in the Lancang-Mekun regionrice
In each round of the competition, the teams demonstrated a broad and comprehensive understanding of the natural conditions, socio-economic factors, religion, culture, and environment of the six countries participating in the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation.
In response to the question
"To promote cooperation and development in the Mekong region, what areas of cooperation should the countries in the region prioritize in the coming period?"The judging panel, comprised of representatives from various universities, demonstrated a deep, comprehensive understanding and strong character, along with confident and fluent public speaking skills. The insights presented by the teams were highly appreciated by the judging panel and international relations experts from universities. This reflects the serious research, thorough preparation, and eagerness to learn and research shown by the students.
At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the Excellence Prize to the team from the Diplomatic Academy and two Cooperation Prizes to the teams from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Academy of Journalism and Communication.
