The seminar was attended by many professors, scientists, and veteran educators of the School from various periods, such as Professor Phan Huy Le, Professor Vu Duong Ninh, Professor Dinh Van Duc, Associate Professor Le Mau Han, and others.
To commemorate the 70th anniversary of its founding and the 20th anniversary of its establishment, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the University directly supervised the compilation and publication of a book introducing the history of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The book outlines the university's development through four stages: the Faculty of Literature stage (1945-1956); the formation and growth of social sciences and humanities disciplines within Hanoi University (1956-1975); the development and maturation of social sciences and humanities disciplines (1976-1995) at Hanoi University; and the establishment and development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities within the structure of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (1995-2015). The book also dedicates a chapter to summarizing the traditions, presenting experiences, and outlining the University's development direction for the coming years.

The book is intended not only to recreate the glorious 70-year history of the University, linked to the ups and downs of Vietnam's revolutionary and national history through key milestones and events, but also to summarize the core values and fine traditions of a leading university in basic sciences. The lessons learned from the book are not only significant in summarizing the past development, but also contribute to suggesting solutions to make the University an advanced research university in the region and internationally in the coming period.

At the seminar, the teachers unanimously supported the initiative, affirming the necessity of compiling a book on the history of the school's development to commemorate its 70th anniversary. The book's outline was assessed as rigorous, logical, meticulous, and rich in valuable materials. In addition, the delegates suggested that more events and details should be revised and added to more accurately reflect the school's history through each stage, in close connection with the history of the country's post-1945 education system.
