Representing the University was Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector of the University).
The workshop aimed to summarize the achievements in research and training of Vietnamese archival studies. Experts also analyzed, predicted, and suggested directions for the development of Vietnamese archival studies in the context of regional and international integration.
Over its 50 years of formation and development, the field of Archival Studies in Vietnam has achieved remarkable results: archival training institutions in Vietnam have trained tens of thousands of bachelors and hundreds of masters. Notably, the first three PhDs in Archival Studies were successfully trained at the Faculty of Archival Studies and Office Management, University of Social Sciences and Humanities. This is also the only institution in Vietnam to date entrusted with the task of training PhDs in Archival Studies. The Faculty's training program is regularly updated and supplemented to closely follow the practical needs of Vietnam and learn from the experience of archival studies training worldwide.

Dr. Dao Duc Thuan – Head of the Department of Archival and Office Management, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, delivered the opening remarks.
The workshop also addressed the limitations and shortcomings in archival research in Vietnam, such as: the approach to archival studies has not been broadened, practical research is still heavily descriptive; professional research still accounts for a large proportion, and new research achievements in archival studies worldwide have not been updated in Vietnam... These limitations need to be properly recognized to help those working in this field strive to improve and further promote the development of archival studies in Vietnam in the future.

Associate Professor Vuong Dinh Quyen is one of the reputable educators who laid the foundation for the formation and development of archival studies in Vietnam.
Vice Rector Tran Thi Minh Hoa stated at the conference: "The legacy left by the generations who laid the foundation for the field of Archival Studies today is not only limited to establishing a theoretical system suitable for practice, contributing to the archival activities of agencies, organizations, and businesses, but also to contributing to the construction and development of a system of university-level training institutions for this field in Vietnam. Half a century of research and training in Archival Studies in Vietnam is not too long compared to the history of Archival Studies worldwide. This is a crucial time to review the achievements of the field as well as identify the major challenges that Vietnamese Archival Studies has faced, is facing, and will face."

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, delivered a speech at the conference.
The workshop also took time to acknowledge the contributions of the first generations of students and lecturers in the field of Archival Studies, such as Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Tham, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Ham, Dr. Phan Dinh Nam, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Phuong, Assoc. Prof. Vuong Dinh Quyen, etc. Thanks to their studies and research at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and with the support of the National Archives, these professors have continuously strived to build and lay a solid foundation for research and training in Archival Studies at the university level in Vietnam.

Paying tribute to generations of teachers in the field of Archival Studies.

Dr. Pham Tan Ha, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, delivered a speech at the conference.
In the future, with the development of information technology and in the context of increasingly strong regional and international integration, the field of Archival Studies will promote several new research directions in: electronic document archiving; archiving of specialized, professional, and unique documents; marketing in archiving; public archives, private archives, and business archives; archiving of oral accounts, memoirs, diaries, and personal letters...
