Student beauty contest prepares to enter the final night

Wednesday - December 8, 2021 02:21
After many diverse but equally challenging rounds, 12 promising students from many majors at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, have officially emerged, ready for the final night of The Face USSH 2021. Although organized in the form of a Facebook Livestream reality show similar to The Next Face, the heat of the competition has never cooled down.

Within the framework of the series of activities to Welcome New Students organized by the Youth Union - Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, The Face USSH 2021 marks a breakthrough in the complicated situation of the Covid-19 pandemic. From a contest to find student faces with a familiar motif, The Face USSH has become the first online reality show at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with the organization steps carried out 100% online through video calling software and livestream systems on social networks.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Anh - Vice President of the Student Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU, representing the Organizing Committee of the contest, said: “With the complicated epidemic situation, students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have been studying online for more than 6 months, so during the past time, the School's Youth Union - Association has converted all activities and movements to online form and The Face USSH 2021 Contest is part of the Take-Off - Welcome New Students K66 USSH series of activities, which is no exception and needs to take place online. The difference and special thing is that this is the first time the school's youth have had such a long-term online program with more than 2 months of duration. This is also the first time a student beauty contest at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has been organized in the form of a premiere on the Facebook Fanpage, similar to the format of many famous reality TV shows such as: The Face Online; The Next Face.”

Nong Huyen Thuong, Top 12 contestant, SBD 161, shared her experience after participating in the program: “This is the first time I have participated in a contest with such a special organization, I feel very new and interesting. I also feel a bit regretful because I have not met everyone outside and stood directly on stage, but it's okay because of the epidemic, so organizing it online will be safer.”

“This year's competition is really special compared to previous years. In addition to the fact that we have to compete 100% online, I find the competitions of The Face USSH 2021 this year very new and special. This is also one of the reasons why I decided to join the program,” said Trinh Cong Minh, a Top 12 contestant from K65 Political Science.

Due to the nature of the program, contestants, Mentors, judges or organizers only need to connect via phone or computer screens to compete on-site and participate in activities. Although it brings many conveniences, the above online organization method still has some limitations.

Trinh Cong Minh believes that the lack of connection with people in the competition is one of his biggest difficulties. Minh confides, “Spending time to exchange and understand more about the contestants helps me have more connections and understand each other’s personalities better.”

For Nong Huyen Thuong, the difficulty lies in the consecutive online meetings to prepare for the competition. There was a time when Thuong was almost late for the meeting, but luckily she made it to the meeting on time. At that time, "I was both worried and relieved because I made it to the meeting on time," Thuong said.

Because competing in a reality show, especially when the show is 100% online, requires a lot of time, in order to balance competing, studying and other personal work, the Top 12 contestants gradually found a way to arrange a more reasonable schedule for themselves.

La Duong Lieu chose to sacrifice her weekend time, “I know it’s hard to balance studying and participating in outside activities. Therefore, I try twice as hard as usual, arranging my time scientifically to avoid affecting my studies as much as possible.”

“Regarding work-life balance, I am still very concerned,” Doan Thi Duyen, contestant number 150 continued to share, “I always try to finish my homework as soon as possible to focus on preparing for the exam, so I don’t get distracted when doing each task. The later rounds I get, the more confident I am, but I still have to try harder to balance the exam and my studies.”

It can be said that the journey to the final round of the contestants was not easy. However, through that journey, they demonstrated their maturity and positive changes, which were the prerequisites for the final championship position of the competition.
Revealing a little about the upcoming final round, the representatives of the Top 12 all have the same answer, which is the promise of interesting competitions and bringing meaningful humanistic values, showing the image of students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, full of dynamism, talent and enthusiasm.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Anh, representative of the program's Organizing Committee, said about the final stages of the program: "Currently, the Organizing Committee and the Top 12 contestants are rushing to complete preparations for the Final with the highest determination, hoping to bring an explosive and eye-catching Final Night to the audience. In addition to the unique organization format with catwalk costume competitions, talent competitions and behavioral competitions at 12 studio locations across the country, The Face USSH 2021 Final also has the participation of guest judges with extensive experience in the field of beauty and other specialties such as: Beauty with a Heart - Top 5 Miss Vietnam 2020: Huynh Nguyen Mai Phuong; Editor/MC Tran Hanh Phuc and mentors: Friendly Beauty - Top 10 Miss Universe Vietnam 2019: Luong Y Nhu; Mister Universe Earth 2019 - Vu Hieu Duc; Champion of Vietnam Fitness Model 2019 - Dat Kyo."

The final night of The Face USSH 2021 is expected to be livestreamed at 8:00 p.m. on December 12, 2021 on the program's official fanpage: "Take Off - Welcome to New USSH Students" and includes costume show, talent and behavior competitions.
