Attending the "Dao Minh Quang Foundation Scholarship Award Ceremony" were Dr. Dao Minh Quang, Chairman of the Foundation, and Lawyer Nguyen Tien Lap, representative of the Dao Minh Quang Foundation Council in Vietnam.
Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities were Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Vice Rector; representatives from functional departments and leaders of Faculties/Institutes/Departments; 28 scholarship recipients; and a large number of students from the University who attended and interacted with Dr. Dao Minh Quang.
The Dao Minh Quang Foundation is a charitable foundation of the Federal Republic of Germany, established and chaired by Dr. Dao Minh Quang in December 2016 in Berlin under the German Civil Code. The Dao Minh Quang Foundation is officially recognized as an independent legal organization by the Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection of the State of Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany. The Foundation only carries out public service and charitable activities.
For the 2024-2025 academic year, the Dao Minh Quang Foundation has decided to sponsor and award 28 scholarships, each worth 10,000,000 VND, to 28 students representing 28 training programs at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. These scholarships are awarded to students with excellent academic achievements, those from disadvantaged families, and staff members who have contributed to the Youth Union and Student Association. This marks the sixth consecutive year, since the 2017-2018 academic year, that the Dao Minh Quang Foundation has awarded scholarships to students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Speaking at the scholarship awarding ceremony, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, on behalf of the leadership and students of the University, expressed his deep gratitude to Dr. Dao Minh Quang and his colleagues in the Fund Council for their valuable support and meaningful gifts to the students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan shared: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has always received special attention and support from the Dao Minh Quang Foundation. Right here on November 16, 2024, at the E campus, with the sponsorship of the Dao Minh Quang Foundation, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities successfully organized a scientific conference on the topic "Assessment and Implementation of the Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Start-up Project in Vietnam based on the German model," attracting the attention of numerous scientists, businesspeople, and students. Over the next 4-6 years, the Foundation is committed to continuing its partnership with the University in research, surveys, compilation, publication of textbooks, handbooks, reference books, and organizing training sessions and talk shows on entrepreneurship and innovative start-ups.
Today's workshop and scholarship awarding ceremony is the realization of the cooperation agreement officially signed in November 2023 and a testament to the good relationship and effective cooperation between the Dao Minh Quang Foundation and VNU-USSH.
Principal Hoang Anh Tuan congratulated the students on their outstanding achievement in receiving the scholarships and wished them much success in their studies and careers.
In addition to collaborating with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in sponsoring scholarships for students and research activities, Dr. Dao Minh Quang is currently a visiting professor at the Faculty of Management Science. On the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan also sent his congratulations and gratitude to Dr. Dao Minh Quang for his continued support of the Faculty in teaching and guiding students and doctoral candidates.
Deeply moved by the warm and thoughtful welcome from the university's leadership and students, Dr. Dao Minh Quang shared: “I was born in a very poor rural area in Phu Tho Province, but thanks to the love of my family and hometown, the help of friends, and my own efforts, I have been able to study and build a career in Germany and achieve some success today. I established this scholarship fund out of a very simple desire, as a token of gratitude to my homeland Vietnam, to my family and friends in my beloved Vietnam. And every time I return to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, I always feel a warm feeling, like coming home and reliving my days of studying in Vietnam. Therefore, I believe that each scholarship is just a small gift I give to the students, but more importantly, through it, I want to send them encouragement, motivation, and support to help them strive to achieve their dreams.”
Having studied and lived in Germany for nearly 40 years, I want to share my experience and knowledge with Vietnamese students and young people, especially regarding career development and sustainable entrepreneurship.

The goal of the Dao Minh Quang Foundation is to encourage cooperative development activities between Vietnam and Germany through five main areas, particularly in promoting general education, vocational training, and higher education; encouraging entrepreneurship and sustainable agriculture projects; and music and culture. Since its establishment, the Foundation has supported and funded numerous projects in Germany and Vietnam. All projects, both past, present, and future, are funded entirely by the Foundation's own capital, contributed by the Founder, and additional funding from Dr. Dao Minh Quang himself. The Foundation has not sought additional funding from any individuals, companies, or other organizations.

Over the years, solely in promoting general education, vocational training, and higher education, as well as music and culture, the Dao Minh Quang Foundation has provided billions of Vietnamese dong annually, primarily in the form of scholarships and awards for students with outstanding academic achievements and difficult family circumstances, for musical talents, and to fund German-Vietnamese concert projects and programs, as well as cultural and musical exchange projects between Germany and Vietnam.
To date, in addition to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Dao Minh Quang Foundation's Scholarship and Award Ceremony has been held at many other schools and locations, such as the University of Natural Sciences (HUS), the International Institute of Francophone Studies (IFI) of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), and primary and secondary schools in Viet Tri, Phu Tho...

On behalf of the 28 students receiving the Dao Minh Quang Foundation Scholarship, Mai Linh (a student from the Faculty of Management Science) expressed her deepest gratitude to Dr. Dao Minh Quang personally, the Foundation Council, and the University for giving them such meaningful gifts. Mai Linh shared: “Today's scholarship is not only a reward and recognition for our efforts, but also gives us confidence and motivation to continue on the path we have chosen. Cherishing this precious gift and sentiment, we are consciously aware of our responsibility to continuously strive for even higher results in our studies and training, to graduate and establish successful careers so that we can help students in difficult circumstances, and to further the noble humanitarian cause that the Dao Minh Quang Foundation is pursuing. I hope and wish that the cooperation between the University and the Dao Minh Quang Foundation will become even stronger and more widespread.”

The 2024 Dao Minh Quang Foundation Scholarship Award Ceremony was also an opportunity for VNU-USSH students to interact and enjoy outstanding musical works through the warm voices of Dr. Dao Minh Quang, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan, artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music, and VNU-USSH faculty and students.
