The Vietnam Youth Union presented awards to the winners of the "Pages That Changed My Life" competition.

This morning, December 23, 2024, the awards ceremony for the writing contest "Pages That Changed My Life" and the video clip contest on the theme of Vietnamese History in 2024 was held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
The competition is organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union in collaboration with other units.
Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Youth Solidarity and Mobilization Department of the Central Youth Union, and Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, stated that in implementing the plan of the Standing Committee of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union regarding the organization of the program "Every young person a book as a friend" in 2024; the writing contest "Pages of books that changed my life" and the "Video clip contest on the theme of Vietnamese history" in 2024.
The competition is open to Vietnamese citizens both in Vietnam and abroad. Authors and groups of authors will share insightful and meaningful passages from books that have changed their perspectives and lives.

Following the launch of the competition, from March 27th to November 30th, 2024, the standing unit received more than 291 written entries and over 100 video clips from individuals across various provinces and cities participating in the competition.
The judging panel selected the following outstanding entries to award prizes: 1st prize, 2nd prize, 3rd prize, 5 consolation prizes, and 1 prize for the entry that received the most votes on social media.
The winning authors were awarded valuable prizes from the competition.
Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, attended the award ceremony.
Ms. Pham Thi Huong Thom - General Director of IMC Mineral Investment Joint Stock Company (the sponsor) delivered a speech at the awards ceremony.
Author Do Thi Van - the first prize winner of the competition (wearing a white shirt, second from the left) and other writers interacting with readers.
At the awards ceremony, a panel discussion about good books was held with the participation of experts in the fields of psychology and medicine, providing students with a lot of information about good books that inspire readers, especially young readers, including the book "The Realm of Hungry Ghosts" published by San Ho Books.
Associate Professor Pham Thu Huong, Faculty of Psychology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and other speakers interacted with students on building reading habits among young people, instilling passion and inspiration, and creating awareness about reading for youth and students.
The writing contest “Pages That Changed My Life” and the video clip contest on the theme of Vietnamese History in 2024 are part of the “Every Young Person a Book as a Friend” program in 2024, implemented by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union. The program aims to further help young people, students, and pupils better understand the meaning and importance of reading; methods of reading; and how to quickly access knowledge, skills, and experiences from books, so that each young person can choose books to be their companions on the path to the future. With many practical and meaningful contents, the program aims to raise awareness among members and young people about the value of reading; and to build and develop reading habits and skills among young people.
