Vice Principal Dang Thi Thu Huong and Dr. Dinh Tien Hieu (Deputy Head of the Department of Student Affairs and Policy) chaired the Conference.
In his opening speech, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized that student affairs is one of the core activities of the School. In recent years, the School's student affairs have undergone many innovations in the direction of enhancing care, support, and companionship with learners, taking learners as the center. Because learners are the resources and human resources for the School. One of the outstanding results is the promotion of digital transformation and the application of information technology in administrative activities to save costs and time for students, and improve the efficiency and quality of support services. Principal Hoang Anh Tuan praised the achieved results, and at the same time hoped that in the coming time, student affairs need to be transformed more drastically and strongly, in order to effectively support students' learning, scientific research, practical internships, job search, etc.

Deputy Head of the Student Affairs Department Dinh Tien Hieu presented a report on student affairs, highlighting the results achieved in 2022 and the direction, goals, and key activities in 2023. The report emphasized: In 2022, although the Covid-19 pandemic situation was tense, affecting all areas of the School's activities. However, with the close direction of the Board of Directors, the attention of the Board of Directors of the Faculties/Departments, the connection and companionship of all departments and training units, and the innovation and creativity of the staff working on student affairs; the work of managing, caring for, and supporting learners has achieved many remarkable achievements: awarding scholarships and financial support to thousands of students; timely rewarding and encouraging students with good academic results; Building and putting into operation the One-stop Administrative software to help resolve administrative procedures for students quickly, conveniently, saving maximum time and travel costs,... Especially during the two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, the School has organized many activities to accompany and support students to overcome the pandemic: vaccination, visiting, encouraging, supporting free accommodation and giving gifts to students infected with Covid, mobilizing many organizations and individuals to participate in the "0 Dong Supermarket" to support students,...

Dr. Dinh Tien Hieu presented a report summarizing student activities in 2022 and directions for activities in 2023.
Representatives of training units and functional departments participating in the Conference exchanged and expressed many opinions, focusing on proposing solutions to improve the effectiveness of student care and support in the coming time.
Dr. Truong Quan Lam (Department of Psychology) with his presentation analyzed the psychological characteristics, thinking, behavior and desires of Gen Z students. Based on understanding these changes, we can propose appropriate and effective activities.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi (Faculty of Management Science) with her presentation "Activities to support connecting students with businesses" suggested many very practical and specific solutions in connecting businesses, supporting practical internship addresses and finding jobs for students.
From the practical student work of the Faculty of Literature, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nam Hoang analyzed in detail the resources that need to be well exploited to be able to innovate student work in a focused, practical and effective direction.
Representatives of the Faculty of International Studies, the School Youth Union and a number of staff working in student affairs all affirmed the role and significance of management, care, support and companionship activities for students, because it is one of the decisive factors in creating trust and attachment between students during the 4 years of university and after graduation; contributing greatly to the overall success of training.


Summing up the conference, Vice Principal Dang Thi Thu Huong affirmed: The conference took place in an open atmosphere, the delegates frankly shared about the existing problems and difficulties in student affairs in the past time, at the same time suggesting many ideas and proposing some specific solutions with high feasibility, contributing to promoting and improving the quality of student affairs. Vice Principal Dang Thi Thu Huong also emphasized: Student support activities are very diverse but need to focus on 4 major areas: Supporting students to improve learning efficiency; Supporting students in practical work; Supporting students in mass movements; Supporting students in life issues. In the coming time, student affairs need to be flexible, proactive, creative, mobilizing resources to diversify activities, innovate organizational forms, improve the quality of student affairs, and meet the requirements of the new situation.
