Vice Rector Dang Thi Thu Huong and Dr. Dinh Tien Hieu (Deputy Head of the Student Affairs and Student Support Department) chaired the conference.
In his opening remarks, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized that student affairs is one of the core activities of the University. In recent years, the University's student affairs work has undergone many innovations, focusing on strengthening care, support, and companionship with students, placing them at the center. Students are the University's resource and human capital. One of the outstanding achievements is the acceleration of digital transformation and the application of information technology in administrative activities to save costs and time for students, and improve the efficiency and quality of support services. Rector Hoang Anh Tuan commended the achievements and expressed his hope that in the future, student affairs work will undergo even more drastic and vigorous transformation to effectively support students' learning, scientific research, practical internships, job searching, and more.

Speaking at the conference, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized that students are the resources and human capital of the school.
Deputy Head of the Student Affairs and Student Support Department, Dinh Tien Hieu, presented a report on student affairs, highlighting the achievements in 2022 and the direction, goals, and key activities for 2023. The report emphasized that despite the tense situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2022, which affected all aspects of the University's activities, with the close guidance of the Board of Directors, the attention of the Faculty/Department leaders, the connection and cooperation of all departments and training units, and the innovation and creativity of the student affairs staff, the management, care, and support of students achieved many remarkable results: awarding scholarships and financial support to thousands of students; promptly rewarding and encouraging students with good academic results; The university has developed and put into operation a one-stop administrative software system to help students resolve administrative procedures quickly, conveniently, and with maximum savings in time and travel costs. Especially during the two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, the university organized many activities to support students in overcoming the pandemic: vaccination, visits, encouragement, free accommodation and gifts for students infected with Covid, mobilizing many organizations and individuals to participate in the "Zero-Cost Supermarket" to support students, etc.

Dr. Dinh Tien Hieu presented a report summarizing student activities in 2022 and outlining plans for 2023.
Representatives from training units and functional departments participating in the conference exchanged and presented many opinions, focusing on proposing solutions to improve the effectiveness of student care and support in the future.
Dr. Truong Quan Lam (Faculty of Psychology) presented an analysis of the psychological characteristics, thinking patterns, behaviors, and aspirations of Gen Z students. Based on an understanding of these changes, we can then propose appropriate and effective activities.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi (Faculty of Management Science), with her presentation "Activities to support connecting students with businesses," suggested many practical and specific solutions for connecting businesses, supporting internship placements, and helping students find jobs.
Based on the practical experience of student affairs at the Faculty of Literature, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nam Hoang provided a detailed analysis of the resources that need to be effectively utilized to innovate student affairs in a focused, substantive, and efficient manner.
Representatives from the Faculty of International Studies, the University's Youth Union, and several student affairs officers affirmed the role and significance of managing, caring for, supporting, and accompanying students, as it is one of the decisive factors in creating trust and attachment among students during their four years of university and after graduation; contributing greatly to the overall success of the training program.


Concluding the conference, Vice Rector Dang Thi Thu Huong affirmed: The conference took place in an open atmosphere, with delegates frankly sharing their concerns and difficulties in student affairs over the past period, while also offering many ideas and proposing specific, highly feasible solutions to promote and improve the quality of student affairs. Vice Rector Dang Thi Thu Huong also emphasized: Student support activities are diverse but need to focus on four main areas: supporting students to improve their academic performance; supporting students in practical work; supporting students in student union activities; and supporting students in their daily lives. In the future, student affairs need to be flexible, proactive, creative, and mobilize resources to diversify activities, innovate organizational forms, and improve the quality of student affairs to meet the demands of the new situation.

In her concluding remarks at the conference, Vice Rector Dang Thi Thu Huong highlighted several key tasks and solutions that need to be focused on in student affairs in 2023.
