Awarding scholarships from the "Green Dream" Fund to students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities

On the morning of April 25, the Institute of Journalism and Communication (IJC), University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, in collaboration with the Journalists and Public Opinion Newspaper and the Military Bank, awarded scholarships from the “Green Dream” Fund to 5 students with difficult circumstances but who have strived to improve their lives and achieved many academic achievements.
The Green Dream Fund is a charity fund founded by the Journalists and Public Opinion Newspaper, an agency of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association. This is also the second year that students of the Institute of Journalism and Communication have received support from the Fund.
The program was attended by Journalist Le Tran Nguyen Huy, Acting Editor-in-Chief in charge of the Journalists and Public Opinion Newspaper, Director of the Green Dream Fund; Mr. Chu Hai Cong, Chief of Office, General Director of the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank MB, representatives of sponsoring units, teachers and students of the Institute of Information Technology and Communications.
Speaking at the scholarship award ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Chi Trung, Deputy Director of the Institute of Journalism and Communication, said: “In the current journalism training and research activities, activities such as the Green Dream Fund scholarship program are very meaningful and influential. This scholarship will motivate and help generations of students have new sources of energy in their studies and research; at the same time, this is an opportunity for training institutions to closely connect with the journalism community.”

Journalist Le Tran Nguyen Huy shared that the Journalists and Public Opinion Newspaper and the Military Bank hope that through the Scholarship Fund, they will encourage and motivate poor students to overcome difficulties and make more efforts in training, studying and scientific research, while contributing to supporting the School in training good human resources for the country in general and the journalism industry in particular.

According to Journalist Le Tran Nguyen Huy, the Journalists and Public Opinion Newspaper wishes to expand its support program to help more students who are in difficult circumstances but still strive to study well.

Student Vu Thi Hai Anh, class K68 Public Relations is one of 5 special circumstances to receive scholarships from the Green Dream Fund this year. Hai Anh was born blind due to the effects of Agent Orange from her father, and encountered many difficulties in her studies.
“The learning materials and support tools for me to access knowledge are still limited. Besides, there are many difficulties in the learning and living process. However, the support from teachers, especially the support from the Green Dream Fund, will be one of the motivations that urge me to overcome adversity, constantly practice and improve my skills and knowledge. And especially this support also helps us get closer to our dream of becoming professional journalists and MCs and spreading positive things to the community in the future,” Hai Anh emotionally shared.

This is the second time the "Green Dream" Fund of the Journalist and Public Opinion Newspaper has been awarded to students of the Institute of Journalism and Communication.

The “Green Dream” Fund scholarship not only has material significance, supporting students to cover their living expenses and invest in their studies, but is also a great source of motivation to help them nurture their dreams of becoming future journalists and becoming useful people for society.

At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, every year, students have the opportunity to receive many types of scholarships and study support from the budget, as well as many corporations, businesses, and funding funds at home and abroad: Vingroup, SHB, Danko, KOVA, AEON, LG, Lotte, Dao Minh Quang Fund, Samsung scholarships, SJ Tech (Korea), Sumitomo, Yamaha, Mitshubishi (Japan), KAS Fund (Germany), ... In addition, many scholarships are study exchange courses at universities in China, India, Korea, Japan, Thailand, ... from the University's partners have been awarded to students and trainees.
