Seventeen VNU-USSH students received SHB scholarships for the first semester of the 2023-2024 academic year.

On May 22, 2024, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) collaborated with Hanoi - Saigon Commercial Joint Stock Bank, Tay Hanoi Branch, to hold the SHB Scholarship Award Ceremony for the first semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. This was the first time SHB Bank awarded scholarships to VNU-USSH students since the two sides officially signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement in August 2023. In this award ceremony, 17 scholarships were awarded to 17 students representing 17 training units, each worth nearly 7.5 million VND.

Attending the scholarship awarding ceremony on behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Vice Rector of the University), and representatives from the Planning - Finance, Political and Student Affairs, and Training departments.
Representing the partner organization were Ms. Nguyen Thi Van Anh (Deputy Director) and representatives from the leadership of various departments/divisions of SHB Bank's Tay Ha Noi branch.
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong happily shared with the partner organization the outstanding achievements of the University in training, scientific research, and community service, and emphasized that to achieve these successes, the University has always received effective support from domestic and international partners. Over the past time, Saigon Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) has been present in many activities of the University, especially actively and effectively participating in the VNU-USSH Job Fair in 2023 and 2024, bringing many exciting job opportunities to students.
Today's scholarship awarding ceremony is a highly meaningful event, further strengthening the effective cooperative relationship between the two institutions, and also presenting valuable gifts and encouragement to the students so that they can continue to strive for even better academic performance.

Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong further shared: “Mr. Do Quang Hien, a senior leader of SHB Group, is also one of the successful alumni of Hanoi University (the predecessor of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities). Therefore, with the scholarship program and academic support for students, the University and SHB Bank hope that students will strive to study well, so that after graduation they can quickly establish themselves and build successful careers, and return to support and assist the next generations of students, building a large and successful community of Hanoi University alumni and VNU-USSH alumni.”
Ms. Nguyen Thi Van Anh (Deputy Director of SHB Tay Ha Noi Branch) expressed her gratitude for the warm and friendly welcome from the Board of Directors, teachers, and students of the University, and shared: Serving the community and collaborating with educational institutions in nurturing and training high-quality human resources is one of the core principles and objectives that the SHB Bank Board of Directors is very concerned about. Effective cooperation with one of the universities with a long tradition and leading position in the country in training high-quality, highly skilled human resources like the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a great honor for businesses, including SHB. Speaking at the scholarship awarding ceremony, Doan Mai Duong (a third-year student majoring in Hotel Management, Faculty of Tourism Studies, representing 17 students) expressed her joy and deep gratitude to SHB Bank, West Hanoi branch, for awarding valuable scholarships to VNU-USSH students. “This is a recognition of our achievements and a great source of encouragement, giving us more opportunities and motivation to continue studying, training, and improving ourselves. I would also like to sincerely thank the University's leadership and teachers for providing timely information, opportunities, and creating all the conditions to ensure we receive the best support. It's not just about financial support; it's also a valuable opportunity for us to directly meet and interact with corporations and businesses, to gain valuable experience and explore exciting career opportunities while we are still in school.”

The 17 students who received scholarships this time represent 17 training units, have excellent academic achievements, actively participate in social activities and youth union/association activities with a positive impact on the community, and some of them come from particularly difficult circumstances but have strived to excel in their studies.
