Lotte Scholarship: Empowering Humanities students to overcome difficulties and pursue their passions.

At LOTTE CENTER Hanoi on April 10, 2024, five students from VNU-USSH were honored to receive scholarships from the Lotte Scholarship Fund, South Korea.
Accompanying the students were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Rector of the university and Mr. Trinh Van Bang - Representative of the Department of Political Affairs and Student Services.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Choi Young Sam - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Korea to Vietnam; Ms. Hae Sun Chang - President of the Lotte Scholarship Foundation; Mr. Seoung Hoon Lee - President of the Lotte Welfare Foundation; Mr. Cho Chang Yong - General Manager of Lotte Hotel Hanoi; and nearly 76 students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-USSH), as well as other universities within and outside the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Hae Sun Chang, Chairwoman of the Lotte Scholarship Foundation, shared: "The Lotte scholarships awarded are an encouragement and motivation from the Foundation to students facing difficult circumstances but who have the will and strength to overcome challenges and achieve high academic results. Ms. Hae Sun Chang hopes that in the future, Vietnamese students will also strive their best, show more interest in Korean culture, and further deepen the friendship between Vietnam and Korea."
Ambassador Choi Young Sam, the Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, expressed his hope that the scholarship recipients today would become outstanding talents and strong pillars responsible for the future of both Korea and Vietnam. 
Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, affirmed: Innovation, creativity, connection, and service to society are not only goals but also driving forces for sustainable development.
Representing the participating universities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, expressed her most sincere gratitude to the Lotte Scholarship Foundation for accompanying and supporting Vietnamese students in overcoming adversity and developing themselves on their academic journey.
Established in 1983, the Lotte Scholarship Foundation strives to help students pursue their dreams and passions, while fostering the development of global youth talent, not only in Korea but also worldwide. In Vietnam, the Foundation has organized numerous initiatives to provide financial support to students at universities, including the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi). The Foundation has awarded dozens of scholarships to encourage students to overcome difficulties, pursue their passions, succeed in their chosen fields after graduation, and become a bridge for lasting friendship between Vietnam and Korea.
Congratulations to the five students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities who have been honored with scholarships from the Lotte Scholarship Foundation. Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities, your teachers and friends are proud and will always support you.
