On May 12, 2011, the Department of Oriental Studies held a presentation and guidance session on the Ikenobo style of Ikebana flower arrangement. Professor Sasaki Yasuhito, a cultural ambassador of the Japanese government, from the Ikenobo School Research Institute (a school of Ikebana art), directly participated in the presentation and guided students on the Shoka Shofutai style of flower arrangement.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's departure to seek a path to national salvation (June 5, 1911 – June 5, 2011), four student unions from the Faculties of Philosophy, History, Management Science, and Political Science jointly organized the second "Understanding Ho Chi Minh's Thought" competition.

On May 10th, the Student Union and Student Association of the Faculty of History organized the final round of the 3rd "Following the Course of History" competition in 2011. The competition aimed to enhance students' general and in-depth knowledge of history while creating a healthy and beneficial playground for them.

After a dramatic penalty shootout, the Women's Football Team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities defeated the Team of the University of Foreign Languages, becoming the champion of the Vietnam National University Hanoi Women's Football Tournament this afternoon, May 8, 2011.

Eight drama teams from various departments within the university had a memorable performance at the Faculty of Literature's Extended Drama Night, an event held to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Faculty of Literature (1956 – 2011).

On April 25, 2011, the Student Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in collaboration with the YuMe network, organized an exchange program on the theme "Developing Perfect Writing Skills".

On the evening of April 23, 2011, the "Managers and Intellectual Property" competition was held at the Me Tri Dormitory Cultural Center with the participation of 4 teams from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the National Economics University, the University of Commerce, and the Academy of Finance.

On April 20th and 21st, the first Consulting Skills Competition, the second round of the presentation competition on "Responsibility," took place with the participation of eight teams: History, Philosophy, Tourism Studies, Social Work, Archival Studies and Office Management, Literature, Management Science, and Sociology.

On April 12th, in Thanh Van commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An province, thousands of people, along with leaders from various departments and agencies of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), bid farewell to Professor, Doctor, and People's Teacher Nguyen Tai Can as he was laid to rest in his hometown cemetery.

On the morning of April 2nd, 2011, the first Academic Advisor Skills Competition officially opened. Immediately following the opening ceremony was the first round, titled "Accompanying," with the participation of 61 academic advisors.

On March 31, 2011, the Faculty of Tourism Studies organized a seminar on the topic: “Students and Tourism Businesses”. Participants included lecturers and students from the Faculty of Tourism Studies, representatives from the Hotel Department of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, and representatives from several hotels and tourism companies in Hanoi, such as Ariva Nam Ngu Hotel, Media Hanoi Hotel, and Crowne Plaza Hotel.

The Vietnam Social Work Network (VNSW) was officially launched on July 31, 2007, at a time when social work training was beginning to be implemented in some Vietnamese universities. The Network's creation stemmed from the personal idea of ​​Master's student Tran Van Kham from the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

On March 26, 2011, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Youth Union and in response to the 2011 Year of Youth, the program "Light up your mind" was held at the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities with the participation of numerous students and invited guests.
