University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU

Based on the results of the first consultation conference of the Hanoi City Fatherland Front Committee held on February 24, 2011 and Official Dispatch No. 43/CV-HDND dated March 1, 2011 of the Standing Committee of the City People's Council on approving the plan and introducing candidates for the Hanoi City People's Council for the 2011-2016 term, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is allowed to introduce one candidate for the City People's Council for the next term.

This coming Wednesday morning (March 23, 2011), at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU), more than 500 Vietnamese and international students will attend the program "Sharing with Japanese friends" about the losses in the recent earthquake.

On March 2, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities had a working session with the National Assembly's survey delegation to collect opinions for the 2nd Draft of the Law on Higher Education.

On the morning of February 8, 2011, Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - Director of VNU - together with leaders of functional departments of VNU came to congratulate the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on the occasion of the New Year of Tan Mao 2011.

On January 22, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a meeting with retired staff to celebrate the New Year and the Lunar New Year 2011.

On the evening of January 5, 2011, the Center for Research on Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) coordinated with the Bac Giang Provincial Youth Union to honor 80 outstanding ethnic minority youths and students in 2010.

On January 4, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the Nguyen Truong To scholarship awarding ceremony - a scholarship program sponsored by the VNHelp California Charity Association, in coordination with the Vietnam Education Promotion Fund.

On the afternoon of December 31, 2011, representatives of the school's leadership, the Student Affairs Department, the Youth Union, and the Student Association visited and wished a Happy New Year 2011 to the school's students currently living at Me Tri Dormitory.

Professor Tran Van Giau studied in France from 1928, joined the French Communist Party from May 1929. From 1931-1932, he studied at Moscow Oriental University then returned to Vietnam to participate in revolutionary activities in the Southern Regional Party Committee.

This morning, December 15, 2010, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a ceremony to honor "Outstanding Young Faces of 2010" including 96 students, 4 PhD students and 19 young staff.

With a total score of 87, the girls from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities excellently won the first place in the first Aerobic Competition for Students of Hanoi National University on the evening of December 14, 2010.

This morning, December 3, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a scholarship awarding ceremony for “Golf Award for Students Overcoming Difficulty and Studying Well – 2010” – a scholarship program jointly implemented by the Vietnam Education Promotion Fund and Investment Newspaper.

Recently, President Nguyen Minh Triet signed Decision No. 1995/QD-CTN on awarding the Third Class Labor Medal to the Party Committee Office and the Union Offices, the Political Department and Student Affairs Department of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for their outstanding achievements in education and training from the 2005-2006 school year to the 2009-2010 school year.

More than 70 general questions and dozens of direct questions from students were discussed and answered at the dialogue between students and school leaders last night, November 30, 2010.
