Types of tuition fees and charges:

  • Regular university programs: 78,000 VND/credit
  • University-based part-time study program offered on campus: 350,000 VND/month/student
  • Part-time university programs offered locally: 400,000 VND – 430,000 VND/month/student
  • Postgraduate training: 435,000 VND/month/student (465,000 VND/month/student for Tourism major)
  • Postgraduate training to international standards: 600,000 VND/month/student
  • Doctoral training: 725,000 VND/month/doctoral candidate (775,000 VND/month/doctoral student for Tourism major)
  • Doctoral training to international standards: 1,000,000 VND/month/doctoral candidate
  • Full-time university training (for foreign students): 1,400 USD/year/student
  • Master's degree training for foreign students: US$3,800/course (2 years)/student
  • Doctoral training for foreign students who already hold a master's degree: US$2,700/course (3 years)/candidate.
  • Doctoral training for foreign students without a master's degree: US$5,400/course (4 years)/candidate.

Fee rates:

  • Admission fees for regular undergraduate and postgraduate programs are implemented according to the regulations of Hanoi National University.
  • University admission fees for part-time study programs are based on actual costs.
  • Enrollment fees for all programs (health check-ups, ID card issuance, etc.) are based on actual expenses.
  • Recruitment fees for staff are in accordance with the regulations of Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the State.

Other sources of income:

  • Tuition fees for supplementary courses: Collected based on the actual costs of each course.
  • Tuition fees for short-term courses: Charged based on the actual costs of each course.
  • Tuition fees for international joint training programs: Collected according to the agreement with the partner.
  • Tuition fee for double major: 225,000 VND/credit
  • Revenue from transportation services: 100,000,000 VND/year
  • Revenue from canteen services: VND 117,380,000/year
  • Revenue for the science fund is generated from service contracts for carrying out research projects and topics, as stipulated in the University's regulations.

Those who are exempt from tuition fees

  • Teacher Training Students: Literature, History
  • Students studying Marxist-Leninist studies (final year)

State budget allocation for 2010: 56,003,000,000 VND

  • Salary fund: 19,996,000,000 VND
  • Recurring expenditure on university education: 23,227,000,000 VND
  • World-class training: 2,460,000,000 VND
  • Master's degree training funded by French counterpart funds: 2,102,000,000 VND
  • Retraining of staff:
  • Regular expenditure on postgraduate training: 2,668,000,000 VND
  • Support for talented thesis and dissertation projects:
  • Regular training expenses for Lao students: 530,000,000 VND
  • Research project funded by Vietnam National University, Hanoi: 1,140,000,000 VND
  • Key, special projects: 380,000,000 VND
  • State-level research project: 1,900,000,000 VND
  • Regular research: 1,600,000,000 VND
