On October 16, 2010, the Faculty of Tourism Studies held the opening ceremony for the dual degree program in Tourism Studies, cohort QH-2010-X, and a career counseling program for students majoring in Tourism Studies. For the 2010-2011 academic year, 63 students from the University of Foreign Languages (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) were admitted to this program.In his speech, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Rector) emphasized the advantages of the dual Bachelor of Tourism Studies program – a joint training program between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Foreign Languages. Notably, the program focuses on knowledge, professional expertise, and practical skills.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy (Deputy Head of the Faculty of Tourism Studies) affirmed: Students participating in the dual degree program not only gain foreign language skills but also acquire specialized knowledge in tourism such as hotel management and travel. Therefore, upon graduation, they will have more favorable career opportunities. At the ceremony, the Faculty of Tourism Studies also organized a career orientation and counseling program for students. Guests representing travel agencies and hotels, including the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Travel Support Co., Ltd., Crowne Plaza Hotel, Sofitel Metrople Hotel, and Melia Hanoi Hotel, discussed career orientation and job opportunities for students after graduation. Mr. Adam Riley (General Manager of Crowne Plaza Hotel) gave a presentation introducing and discussing with students the necessary knowledge, skills, and career opportunities at Crowne Plaza Hotel. Many student questions focused on the requirements companies have for students and career opportunities after graduation. Representatives from the companies and businesses all affirmed that they would create opportunities for students to participate in internships and work both during their studies and after graduation.
