On December 29, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a dialogue between the school's leaders and postgraduate students of all courses. Representatives of the Board of Directors, leaders of functional departments, faculties and departments attended the dialogue to listen and answer students' questions. The dialogue was chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Principal of the School, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Van Quyet - Head of the Department of Postgraduate Training, Dr. Pham Thi Thu Hoa - Deputy Head of the Department of Postgraduate Training. The students' opinions were mostly questions related to training, research and tuition fees. Many students, especially new students in 2010, for some reasons, did not fully understand the training regulations and guidance documents, training programs, course outlines, study plans and exams. These questions from students about the above issues were specifically answered by Associate Professor Dr. Pham Van Quyet, who also guided students to refer to the postgraduate training regulations that have been fully posted on the school's website. The dialogue between the school's leaders and foreign language postgraduate students is also one of the issues that many students are concerned and worried about. There were questions about the foreign language learning schedule for students in 2010. Some opinions said that the general English program, used for all majors and disciplines, should be grouped into one class, which is not really suitable because the level, needs for learning and using foreign languages are not equal. Therefore, learning foreign languages is still a coping and formality, not really effective, motivating students so the quality is not high. Therefore, the school should build separate foreign language programs for majors and separate classes, which would be more suitable. Answering students' questions about foreign language teaching and learning, Dr. Pham Thi Thu Hoa said that currently foreign languages are taught by the University of Foreign Languages (VNU), so the schedule will be unified and announced to students specifically and in detail. In addition to scientific research being one of the core activities, many students hope that the School should create conditions for students to be able to make real scientific reports and be able to publish them in the school's scientific journals, and at the same time publish information about scientific research topics and specialized research of students and teachers so that students can understand and refer to them for their research. Vice Principal Nguyen Van Kim said: The School always encourages and creates conditions for students to study and participate in scientific research, quality scientific reports will be published. The Vice Principal hopes that students will actively and proactively participate in scientific research. Many direct questions about each specific case were raised by students at the dialogue such as: Do postgraduate students have scholarships? Are final exam scores published online? Dr. Pham Thi Thu Hoa also said: Postgraduate students also receive many scholarships and scholarships for postgraduate students are mainly from external funding sources, so if students meet the requirements, they can completely receive scholarships. Regarding exam scores, because there is currently no separate software, students' exam scores cannot be published online. In addition, there are many other questions from students about issues such as Party work, enrollment, graduation, enrollment registration, thesis and dissertation registration process, etc. Most of the questions were directly and clearly answered by representatives of the school's leaders and functional departments. Concluding the dialogue, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - representative of the Presidium - suggested that students should proactively study the regulations and related documents. At the same time, the Vice Principal encouraged students to continue to exchange ideas and feedback with the Board of Directors and departments so that the school's activities are more effective and positive.
