The closing ceremony and certificate awarding ceremony for 23 students of the 5th course of screenwriting and film criticism theory - a training cooperation program between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Ford Foundation took place on November 26.It is known that the 5th course of the project to train screenwriters and film criticism theory officially opened on November 3, 2009 with 31 students selected from many universities and training institutions across the country. Up to now, after 1 year of study, 23 students have completed their graduation thesis and received certificates from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Compared to the previous 4 courses, the 5th course is the graduation course with the largest number of students. Students of the 5th course also published the highest number of issues of the magazine "Cinema Brief News": 19 issues. In addition, students of this course also carried out 5 short film projects. In addition, students are continuing to implement 2 translation projects. The Film Project sponsored by the Ford Foundation started in 2005 and has been conducting a free ten-month course each year to develop talents in screenwriting, film criticism and television theory in Vietnam. In the 2010-2011 school year, the 6th course - the last course of the film project funded by the Ford Foundation - will end. After that, it is very likely that a new major - Cinematography - at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will be born from the results of the training cooperation process over the past years between the University and the Ford Foundation.
