On December 15, 2009, the School held a meeting on full-time undergraduate training to evaluate the work of the end of semester I and prepare for the implementation of semester II, school year 2009 - 2010. The meeting concluded the following main contents:
1.Heads of units direct the proper implementation of key tasks from now until the end of semester I, school year 2009-2010 (see appendix). When implementing these tasks, units need to pay attention to:
a) Strictly implement the notice of the Training Department (PDT) sent on December 13, 2009. Pay attention to instructing and reorienting students, especially K53 and K54, on the training process; grasp the cases of students (focusing on K52) who do not register for the normal number of credits of the semester (18 credits, not including GDTC and GDQP) to have timely handling measures.
b) Regarding the first semester exams of K52, 53 and 54: Faculties pay attention to properly implementing the regulations on making a list of students eligible to take the exam (pay attention to updating the list of students who have not paid tuition fees of the Planning - Finance Department), making exam questions, assigning exam supervisors and grading officers.
c) Regarding the first semester component scores: Faculties remind lecturers to announce scores to students before the end of the course; if the lecturer has not announced them, the faculty must report to the Director of the Department and announce them for students to check, to avoid incorrect/missing scores.
d) Prepare to teach semester II, school year 2009 - 2010: The Faculty will assign teaching immediately according to the invited teaching schedule sent by the PDT; at the same time, pay attention to updating classes and subjects that have changes during the registration process, to avoid adjusting teaching many times.
e) Based on the analysis of the credit accumulation process (see appendix) of K52 (4 semesters), K53 (2 semesters) established by the Training Department, the Faculty directs the Training Department to clearly identify the list of students belonging to the groups listed in the table to have specific measures in counseling for students. The Training Department must collect this document (students should be reminded to keep a copy) and coordinate with the Training Department to review the students' learning situation in the second half of January 2010 to have a basis to prepare additional classes for students after the Canh Dan Tet holiday.
2.On adjusting the training program
- If not really necessary (for example: thesis, internship, thesis), then transfer the self-study credit hours to 0 (zero). Absolutely do not transfer discussion credit hours, exercises to practice credit hours. Practice credit hours need to be guided in the Training Program Implementation Guide.
- Carefully review prerequisite subjects, build a design training process for each semester (note that if elective subjects are in different semesters, just write down the number of credits that should be accumulated in each semester to guide students). For subjects of the same major but currently have codes managed by other majors, the faculty needs to have specific proposals in the post-acceptance report so that the school has a basis for resolution, ensuring unified management of subjects in the school.
3.On the use of course outlines in teaching semester II, school year 2009 - 2010
- Subjects taught in semester II still use the current, approved curriculum.
- Units that have not yet accepted additional or revised subjects must ensure that acceptance is completed before January 30, 2010, at least for subjects taught in semester II.
- The adjustment of the course syllabus after adjusting the training program will be guided in January 2010.
4.Prepare graduation data for K51
- The Department builds spreadsheets for departments to use in graduation evaluation and printing full-course transcripts for students.
- The Steering Committee announced the decision to convert D points to C points for students in the 2006-2007 school year according to the conclusion of the 16th Steering Committee Conference.
- Faculties need to strictly implement the regulation of announcing semester scores from the beginning of the course before the end of semester I so that students can check and prepare graduation data in time.
5.The Training Inspection Board has a specific plan to inspect the implementation of class hours recorded in the timetable, the submission of component scores of subjects of semester I and the preparation for teaching in semester II, school year 2009-2010.
The school requests that units coordinate with the Training Department to seriously implement the above conclusions.
