Announcement of the appointment of the Board of Directors for the term 2009-2014

On November 14, 2009, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a ceremony.depend onCommemorating Vietnamese Teachers' Day and announcing the decisions on the appointment of the Principal and Vice-Principals for the new term.ì2009-2014.

Attendees included Prof. Dr. Phung Huu Phu - Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Propaganda Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Hang - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Prof. Dr. Pham Trong Quat - Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang - Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Prof. Phan Huu Dat - President of the Association of Retired Teachers of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, former Rector of Hanoi University of Technology, and Prof. Vu Duong Ninh - President of the Association of Retired Teachers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Many representatives from partner organizations, along with numerous teachers from various generations and students from different courses of the University, were present to share in the joy of the ceremony.

Representing the leadership of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Trong Quat - Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Director - delivered a congratulatory speech to the teachers and students of the university on Vietnamese Teachers' Day. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - on behalf of the Board of DirectorsìThis recently affirmed the University's major directions for the next five years. Accordingly, in order to quickly reach the level of advanced universities in the region, the key tasks of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities are:

• Focus on innovating and improving the effectiveness of political education and moral and ideological training for cadres and students;
• To create a fundamental shift in the work of building and developing the workforce, focusing on developing young cadres and leading scientists with professional and foreign language skills on par with the region;
• Continue developing new fields/specializations such as Vietnamese Studies, Policy Science, Public Administration, and Art Studies, while expanding training programs to international standards, establishing joint training programs with foreign countries, and improving the quality of graduates.
• Improving the quality and effectiveness of scientific research and international cooperation;
• Promote the application of information technology and implement administrative reforms;
• Increase the income level for staff and faculty members in the school.

The ceremony also included speeches from representatives of former and current faculty members, as well as students, expressing their determination to work together with the new Board of Directors to continue contributing to the overall achievements of the university.
