The first round of postgraduate entrance examinations in 2008 concluded successfully.

The first postgraduate entrance examination of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in 2008 took place on May 17th and 18th, 2008.

There were 890 candidates (out of a total of 1014 applications) who took the entrance exam for 24 postgraduate programs; and 118 candidates (out of a total of 129 applications) who took the doctoral entrance exam for 22 programs. Among them, 8 candidates were enrolled in joint training programs with the Institute for Strategic and Policy Research in Science and Technology (Ministry of Science and Technology).

The exam was conducted seriously, in accordance with regulations, and with absolute safety ensured. Nineteen candidates violated exam room discipline and were suspended from the exam, and one candidate received a reprimand.

In 2008, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) had 500 postgraduate enrollment quotas and 45 doctoral enrollment quotas. The first phase will recruit 35% of the total postgraduate quotas and 100% of the doctoral quotas (including entrance exams and doctoral transfer applications from undergraduate students of the 2004-2008 cohort).

According to the plan, the 2008 postgraduate course will begin in November 2008.
