II. UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS
1. Eligibility and application requirements
1.1. Eligibility Criteria:- Individuals who have graduated from a Vietnamese high school or hold a foreign diploma with recognized equivalent qualifications.
- Individuals holding a vocational diploma in a field related to the chosen profession and who have completed the required amount of general education at the high school level as stipulated by law.
(hereinafter referred to as high school graduation).
1.2 General eligibility requirements:- Meet the required entry threshold.
- Must be in good health to study according to current regulations.
- All required personal information and application documents are provided.
- For candidates with disabilities, including those with severe disabilities that impair their learning abilities, who wish to apply, the Admissions Council will consider their applications for majors that are suitable to their health conditions.
1.3. For each major and each admission method, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has specific regulations.
2. Admission methodsIn 2026, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, will recruit students through three admission methods:
- Method 301: Direct admission and priority admission according to the current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET).
- Method 401: Admission based on valid results of the National University of Hanoi's High School Competency Assessment Exam (HSA).
- Method 100: Admission based on high school graduation exam results.
2.1. Method 301: Direct admission and priority admission according to the current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
2.2. Method 401:Admission is based on valid results from the National University of Hanoi's High School for Academic Excellence (HSA) test.Candidates must have valid scores from the Vietnam National University, Hanoi's High School Competency Assessment Test (HSA) as of the application deadline on the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' registration portal (valid for 2 years from the date of the test). The HSA test code used for admission will be announced in the official admissions information.

Candidates are entitled to preferential treatment based on their eligibility and region, as stipulated in the latest regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Candidates with foreign language certificates whose scores are converted into points for the foreign language subject in their chosen admission test combination (if desired) will be announced in detail in the official admission information.
During the admission process, there will be a difference in scores between different admission combinations. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities will announce the results of the high school graduation exam and the score distribution according to the regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training when they are available.
3. Admission quotas:The school will announce the details after receiving the quota from Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
4. Application and examination feesAccording to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the announcement of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
5. Specialization Orientation
a) Oriental Studies:The Oriental Studies program comprises three specializations: Indian Studies, Thai Studies, and Chinese Studies. After the first semester, the Department of Oriental Studies will assign first-year Oriental Studies students to specializations based on their preferences and academic performance in the first semester. Priority will be given to students with HSK and HSKK Level 3 or higher language proficiency certificates for Chinese Studies, Thai language proficiency certificates for Thai Studies, and international English language certificates for Indian Studies.
b) Other majors/programs:Students are assigned specializations in their fourth year (students choose their specialization based on their individual professional needs and the training unit's orientation). The specializations for each specific major/program are as follows:

- Requirements for enrolling in a double degree program:
+ The main field of study in the second training program must be different from the main field of study in the first training program;
+ Have completed at least two semesters of the first training program;
+ The overall average grade for all courses from the beginning of the course to the time of registration for the second training program must be 2.5 or higher and meet the quality assurance threshold for admission to the second program in the enrollment year, or the overall average grade for all courses from the beginning of the course to the time of registration for the second training program must be 2.0 or higher and meet the admission requirements of the second program in the enrollment year;
+ Students who apply to pursue a second degree program and fulfill all obligations as stipulated by the training institution.
