Purpose and Context of the CelebrationThe ceremony was held to summarize 30 years of pioneering in the field of training and research in humanistic tourism, affirming the position and prestige of the Faculty's academic brand. The Faculty of Tourism Studies was recognized as the first unit in the country to open training programs for Master of Tourism (in 2003) and Doctor of Tourism (in 2018), contributing significantly to the institutionalization of tourism studies as a science in Vietnam. In particular, within the framework of the ceremony, the Faculty will be honored to receive the title of "Best Tourism Training Institution" awarded by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2025.
Time and location:The main event will take place from 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM, Saturday, November 15, 2025.
The official venue is Hall 8th Floor, Building E, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU).
The reception and check-in area for delegates is the 1st floor lobby of Building E, starting from 13:30 – 14:30.
Participants and keynote speakersThe ceremony was attended by the School's leaders, leaders of the Tourism industry, generations of former teachers, alumni, partners and media agencies. Speakers included: Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities delivered a congratulatory speech; Dr. Ha Van Sieu - Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism delivered a speech and presented the title; Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung - Head of the Faculty of Tourism Studies delivered a commemorative speech.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities acknowledged and praised the achievements of the Faculty of Tourism Studies in 30 years, especially in its pioneering role in building the academic foundation of tourism in Vietnam. He emphasized the educational philosophy of the Faculty: Taking scientific research as the foundation, closely linking theory and practice, and affirming the position of the Faculty of Tourism Studies as a leading prestigious training and scientific research center in the country.
Dr. Ha Van Sieu - Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism expressed his joy and honor to represent the leaders of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to attend this event. He affirmed his belief that, with the spirit of pioneering, creativity and development, along with the strategy of "30 years of Humanistic Tourism - Spreading wings to reach far", the Faculty of Tourism Studies will continue to be the leading training and research center. He also spoke about the need for the Faculty to continue to make an important contribution to the cause of taking off the Vietnamese tourism industry, integrating successfully and sustainably. Before that, Dr. Ha Van Sieu represented the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to perform the ceremony of awarding the title "Best Tourism Training Institution" to the representative of the leaders of the Faculty of Tourism Studies.
Representing generations of former teachers and Faculty Leaders through the periods, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Duc Thanh - one of the people who directly laid the foundation and steered the boat of Tourism Studies and co-editor of classic learning materials, widely used in the system of tourism training institutions nationwide, such as the book Introduction to Tourism and Tourism Geography, gave a speech at the Commemoration Ceremony sharing about the process of building the Faculty of Tourism Studies, emphasizing the educational philosophy of the Faculty: Taking scientific research as the foundation, closely linking theory and practice.
Mr. Dao Duy Tuan (Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Education, Culture and Society, Government Office) - representing generations of students and trainees of the Faculty who have grown up and are holding many important positions in management agencies, training institutions and tourism enterprises across the country, also gave a speech sharing about the process of growing up after graduation and the contributions of generations of students and trainees to the development of Vietnam's tourism. His speech is considered the voice of those who have been and are continuing the glorious tradition, spreading knowledge, building the image, reputation and affirming the brand of the Faculty of Tourism Studies.

The opening was the Welcome Performance with 3 special performances by students and alumni.
Next was the Awards and Honors section, announcing and awarding the title of “Best Tourism Training Institution” (from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), the Ministry-level Certificate of Merit and the National University-level Emulation Flag. The highlight of the event was the 30-year Mark, with the 30-year Ball Activation Ceremony, marking the development journey of the Faculty.
The event will end with a performance by alumni called Journey from the Heart, expressing the spirit of Gratitude and Connection.
